AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning
Ordinance, Adopted November
21, 1960, as amended
WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning
Amendment Committee for its consideration the matter of certain
amendments to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning certain
property described as Lots 1 through 6, Block 9 of Keeney and
Rinn's Addition in Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 14,
East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois,
and more commonly described as the half block bounded by South
Boulevard, Callan Avenue, Custer Avenue, and the first alley
• north of Oakton Street, which property is zoned in part as R6
Residential District and in part as C2 Commercial District, with
a proposal to rezone all of said property as R4 Residential
District classification; and
WHEREAS, public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning
Amendment Committee on May 14, 1964 pursuant to notice and
publication as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a report
under date of May 25, 1964 recommending a change in zoning of
said areas; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council the highest
and best use of the properties would be to change certain of
said properties from C2 Commercial District to R6 General
Residency District; and that
said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect property
adjacent thereto or in the immediate area:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTO N, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Evanston,
adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as
follows:
The following properties now classified as C2
Commercial District on the Official District
Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are here-
by zoned R6 General Residence District. The
regulations and restrictions applicable to R6
General Residence District and the penalties
• provided for in said Zoning Ordinance, adopted
November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation
of any such regulations and restrictions, shall
hereafter apply to the following properties:
Lots 1 through 5. Block 9 of Keeney and
Rinn's Addition in Section 19, Township
41 North, Range 14, East of the Third
Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois.
SECTION: The Official District
Map of the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be
further amended in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance.

SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts
of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the
manner provided by law.
