AN ORDINANCE
To Acquire Certain Property for
Park Purposes
WHEREAS, the City of.Evanston has been authorized by
law to acquire sites, buildings and facilities for park
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is
necessary and convenient to acquire the real estate, herein-
af ter (iescribed, for park purposes:
NOW? THF'.R.EFORE 9 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, I LLINOI S :
SECTION 1: It is hereby determined
that .t is necessary,
conven~ent and desi.ranle for the City of Evanston to lay out
and establish a public park in the ^ity of Evanston on the
property hereinafter described.
SECTION 2: It is hereby determined
that it is necessary,
convenient and desirable for the City of Evanston tc acquire
title to and possession of certain real estate commonly described
as 1733 Hovland Court and legally described in the City of
Evanston, County of Cook, and State of Illinois, as follows:
Lots 39 and 40, Block 2, J. S. Hovland's
Evanston Subdivision in the Northwest quarter,
Section 1.3, Township 41 North, Range 13, East
of the Third Principal. Meridian,
which real. property is necessary, convenient and desirably for
park purpose-,.

SECTION 3: That the Director of Public
Works of the laity of
Evanston, be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to necaotiate for anH on behalf of the City of Evanston with the
owner or owners of the real property herein described for the
purchase thereof by -the City of Evanston, and in the event that
the Director of Public Works is unable to agree with the owner
of sain .real property upon the compensation to be paid therefor,
the Corporation Counsel of the City of E.van7,ton is authorized,
emr,L=Ne,-ed and �irected to cause condemnation proceedings to be
institutlecl for the purpose of acquiring for the City of. Evanston
title to and possession of the real property specifically de-
scribed in this ordinance, in accordance with the eminent domain
laves of. the State of Illinois
SECTION 4: This. ordinance shall be in
full Force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
