HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1964-124-O-64-Ri 124-0- i4 AN ORDINANCE �• Declaring the Prtmi,ses at 329 Dempster Street to be a Public Nuisance IMMEAS, the Director oz 13uildinq and Zoning and the duly authorized officers of the Fire Department of the City of Evanstonn,have inspected the premises commonly known as 329 Dempster Street, Evanston, - Illknois, as hereafter legally described; and V44MEAS, said officers of the City of Evanston have determined that by virtue of fire and other deterioration of said premises, said premises constitute an immediate danger to thepublic health, aafety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Evanston; and V.HERERS, the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston have determined that said premises constitute a public nuisance which must be razed in order to protect.the public health, safety and welfare of the City of Evanston: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF EVANSTC , COOK COUNT'Y0 ILLINOIS: SECTION It That the pro mrlses commonly known as 329 Dempster Street, consisting of a two-story frame building located on the property legally described as - Lot 9 in Black 36, in Village of Evanston, all in the hest half of the Southeast quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North$ mange 14, East of the 'Third Princl.pal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois, be and it is hereby declared to be a public nuisance. • SECTION 21 The owner, agent or person in control of said property is hereby directed to abate said nuisance by razing said building within ten days of the passage of thit. ordinance. If the owner shall fall to abate said nuisanco, the City of Evanston will immediately abate said nuisance and charge the owner, agent or person In control of said premises for its cast in abating said nuisanc6. SECTION 3; The CityManager is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this ordi.nince immediately upon its passage to the owner, agent or other person in control of said promises. SECTION 44.
