HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1965-021-O-65012 • Amended 3/29/65 21-0-65 AN ORDINANCE Amending an Ordinance Creating a Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Conservation BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Section 2-180 of the Code of the City of Evanston, 1957, as amended, be further amended so that it shall read as follows: "Section 2-180. Appointment, Composition, Terms. "The Mayor shall appoint, by and with the consent of the City Council, 15 citizens to serve as regular members of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Com- munity Conservation. At least one member of such committee shall be a member of the Land Use Com- mittee of the City Council; one member shall be a member of the Plan Commission of the City of Evans- ton; one member shall be a member of the Land Clearance Commission of the City of Evanston, and r one member shall be a member of the Community • Relations Commission. The remainder of the com- mittee shall be composed of such other members as may be appointed from time to time by the ,�1 O "All appointed members of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Conservation shall serve as such without compensation. "The first appointment of regular members shall be: five for one year, five for two years, and five for three years. Thereafter, appointments shall be for three years and members may be reappoint addi- tional terms. An appointment by the Q. to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term shall be for the remainder of the term. Members shall serve until their successors have been appointed. - 013 r: "When a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Conservation has been unable or has failed to attend meetings for health, business or other reasons during a consecutive period of four months, such absence shall be construed, after notice to the member, as resigning from the com- mittee. A vacancy thus created shall be filled as in other vacancies.11 SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
