AN ,ORDINANCE
Vacating Portion.of Florence Avenue,
South of Oakton Street, and Portions
of Alleys East and West of Florence
Avenue, Adjoining Chute Junior High
School.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: All that portion of Florence
Avenue south of Oakton::Street,
and portions of the public alleys east and west of Florence
Avenue, adjoining Chute Junior High School, and legally de-
scribed as -
That portion of Florence Avenue beginning at a
• point being the northeast corner of Block 1, M. L.
Jackson's Addition to South Evanston.; thence west
along the north line of said Block 1, extended east,
to the.west line of the Northeast quarter of the
Northeast quarter of Section 25, Township 41 North,
Range.13, East of the Third Principal Meridian;
thence south along said line to the north line,
extended west, of Lot 2, Jans' First Addition to
Evanston; thence east along said north line, ex-
tended, to the northwest corner of said lot; thence
south to the southwest corner of said lot; thence
west along the south line, extended west, of said
lot to the east line of Block 1, M. L. Jackson's
Addition; thence north along said east line to the
point of beginning; in the Northeast quarter of
Section 25, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of
the Third Principal Meridian in the City of
Evanston, Cook County, Illinois;
Also
That portion of the sixteen (16) foot public alley
lying north of and adjoining Lot 8 in Block 1,
M. L. Jackson's Addition to South Evanston, in
the Northeast quarter of'Section 25, Township 41
North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal
Meridian in the City of Evanston,.Cook County,

That portion of the eight (8) foot public alley
lying east of and adjoining Lot 2, Jans' First
Addition to Evanston, in the Northeast quarter of
Section 25, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of
the Third Principal Meridian in the City of
Evanston, Cook County'', Illinois,
as cross -hatched and indicated by the words "HEREBY VACATED"
on the plat hereto attached, which plat for greater certainty
is hereby made a part*of this ordinance, be and the same are
hereby vacated and closed, inasmuch as the corporate authorities
of the City of Evanston have determined that the public interest
will be subs erved by vacating those portions of the public street
and the public alleys, hereinabove described, and that the
nature and extent of public use and public interest to be sub -
served is such as to warrant the vacation of certain portions
•
of the public street and the public alleys.
SECTION 2: The City of Evanston hereby
reserves to itself and to all
public utilities owning public service facilities, such rights -
of -way and easements as are presently installed and located in
those portions of the public streets hereby closed, together
with the right of ingress and egress for the maintenance,
renewal and reconstruction thereof.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.

August 22, 1966. Roll Call - Voting Aye: Alderman McCourt, Kamen, Lyons, Marshall,
Nott, Cain, Wiscomb, Spencer, Hartman, Howell, Boyer, Winfield, Trenbeth, Hoover
and Emrich. Voting Nay: None. .Motion carried. .Absent: Alderman Jans, Beck and
Ward. Presiding: Mayor John D. Emery.
