AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning
Ordinance, Adopted November
21, 1960, as amended.
WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment
Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments
to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning
Amendment Committee on January 12, 1967, pursuant to notice and
publication as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered
a report under date of February 1, 1967, recommending a change
• in zoning of the said area:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960,
as amended, be further amended by reclassifying from R5 General
Residence and R6 General Residence District to R5A General Resi-
dence District the following described territory, to -wit:
The properties located in the area bounded by Dewey
Avenue on the east, Simpson Street on the south,
Darrow Avenue on the West and the right-of-way of
the Chicago Metropolitan Sanitary District on the
northwest, except for Lots 8, 9, 10 and the south-
ern 40 feet of Lot 7 in Block 8, of Payne's Addition
to Evanston, said excluded properties commonly known
as 1701-1727 Simpson Street and 2107 Darrow Avenue; and

Also Lots 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Travers' Subdivision
of the East half of Block 9 in Payne's Addition to
Evanston, commonly known as 2108-2122 Darrow Avenue,
said Payne's addition being a Subdivision of the
Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section
12, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION 2: The official District Map of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance.
