HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1967-024-O-67r LJ 24-0-67 �& AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, Adopted November 21, 1960, as amended. WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning the following property: Lots 5 and 6 of the Resubdivision of Lot 6 and that part of Lots 1 to 5 lying east of the west 24.2 feet of Block 1 in 0. Huses Addition to Evanston; Lots 7 and 8 of Block 1 in 0. Huses Addition to Evanston; and Lots 1 through 7 in the Resubdivision of Lots 9 to 12 of Block 1 in 0. Huses Addition to Evanston, a Subdivision of the North half of the Northeast quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 19, Township 41 • North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1200-1230 Sherman Avenue and 801-817 Crain Street; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee on November 17, 1966 pursuant to notice and publication as required by law; and WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a report under date of February 15, 1967, recommending a change in zoning of the said area; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest and best use of the properties would be to change the zoning from C2 Commercial District to R3 Two -Family Residence District and that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect prop- erty adjacent thereto or in the immediate area: • d B 4, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as follows: That the following described properties now classified as C2 Commercial District on the official District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are hereby zoned R3 - Two -Family Residence District. The regulations and restrictions applicable to R3 Two -Family Residence District and the penalties provided for in said Zon- ing Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation of any such regulations and restric- tions, shall hereafter apply to the following area: Lots 5 and 6 of the Resubdivision of Lot 6 and that part of Lots 1 to 5 lying east of the west 24.2 feet • of Block 1 in 0. Huses Addition to Evanston; Lots 7 and 8 of Block 1 in 0. Huses Addition to Evanston; and Lots 1 through 7 in the Resubdivision of Lots 9 to 12 of Block 1 in 0. Huses Addtion to Evanston, a Subdivision of the North half of the Northeast quar- ter of the Northwest quarter of Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1200-1230 Sherman Avenue and 801-817 Crain Street. SECTION 2: The official District Map of the zoning ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. - 2- • LJ • n �J SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
