AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance,
Adopted November 21, 1960, as amended.
WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment
Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments
to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning the following property:
Lots 26 through 35 of Block 1 in Golee's Resub-
division of Blocks 4, 5 and 8 in Chase and Pitner's
Addition to Evanston in the Northwest quarter of the
Northeast quarter of Section 24, Township 41 North,
Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian in
Cook County, Illinois, and
commonly known as 1201-1225 Dodge Avenue and 1821-
• 1823 Crain Street.
Lots 1 through 10 in W. S. Williams Subdivision of
Lots 10, 11 and 12 in Block 9 of Chase and Pitner's
Addition to Evanston and Lots 7 through 9 in Block
9 of Chase and Pitner's Addition to Evanston in
the Northwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of
Section 24, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of
the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois,
and
commonly known as 1101-1147 Dodge Avenue and 1816-
1824 Crain Street.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning
Amendment Committee on November 3, 1966 pursuant to notice and
publication as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered
a report under date of January 25, 1967, recommending a change
in zoning of the said area; and

WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest
and best use of the properties would be to change the present
C2 Commercial District zoning to R5A General Residence District,
and that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect
property adjacent thereto or in the immediate area:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of Evanston, adopted November 21,
1960, as amended, be further amended as follows:
That the following described properties now classified -
as C2 Commercial District on the official District Map
of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are hereby zoned R5A
General Residence District. The regulations and re-
strictions applicable to R5A General Residence District
and the penalties provided for in said Zoning Ordinance,
adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation
of any such regulations and restrictions, shall here-
after apply to the following area:
Lots 26 through 35 of Block 1 in Golee's Resub-
division of Blocks 4, 5 and 8 in Chase and Pitner's
Addition to Evanston in the Northwest quarter of
the Northeast quarter of Section 24, Township 41
North, Range 13, E-st of the Third Principal Merid-
ian in Cook County, Illinois, and
commonly known as 1201-1225 Dodge Avenue, and 1821-
1823 Crain Street.
Lots 1 through 10 in W. S. Williams Subdivision
of Lots 10, 11 and 12 in Block 9 of Chase and
Pitner's Addition to Evanston and Lots 7 through
9 in Block 9 of Chase and Pitner's Addition to
Evanston in the Northwest quarter of the Northeast

East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois, and

SECTION 2: The official District Map of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
