WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment • Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments to 'the i!'f?Wrston Zoning 4rdir,ance concern-irtg the-' Toll-6Wi-ng -pr'op#Tty: Lots four (4) through eight (8) inclu- sive in Paul Pratt's Addition to Evan- ston, a subdivision of the South West 8% acres of the South half of the North East quarter of the North West quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1905-1947 Maple Avenue, 917-919 Emerson Street, 908-914 Garnett P1., and 906-916 Foster Street; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee on September 21, 1967 pursuant to notice and publication as required by law; and WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a report under date of December 5, 1967, recommending a change in zoning of the said area; and • WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest and best use of the properties would be to change the present zoning to U4 University Housing District, and that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect property adjacent thereto or in the immediate area: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF E`iANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as follows: That the following described properties now classified as C2 Commercial District, R5 General Residence District, and B2 Business District, on the official District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are hereby zoned U4 Univer- sity Housing District. The regulations and restrictions applicable to U4 University Housing District and the penalties provided for in said Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation of any such regulations and restrictions, shall hereafter apply to the following area: Lots four (4) through eight (8) inclusive in Paul Pratt's Addition to Evanston, a subdivision of the South West 8 acres of the South half of the North East quarter of the North West quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1905-1947 Maple Avenue, 917-919 Emerson Street, 908-914 Garnett P1., and 906-916 Foster Street.. SECTION 2: The Official District Map of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with • the provisions of this ordinance.
