HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1968-026-O-68Revised 3-4-68 26-0-68 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, Adopted November 219 1960, as amended. WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning the following property: Lots 20 to 25 in Block 3 of Brown and Culver's addition to Evanston, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois, and • commonly known as 1817-1827 Greenwood Street and 1409 Dodge Avenue. Lots 27 through 40 in Block 3 of N.P. and W.S.. Williams Subdivision of Block 3 in Chase and Pitner's addition to Evanston, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1816-1826 Greenwood Street and 1313-1339 Dodge Avenue. WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee on September 21, 1967 pursuant to notice and publication as required by law; and WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a report recommending a change in zoning of the said area; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest and best use of the properties would be to change the present • • C2 Commercial District to R3 Two -Family District for the property commonly known as 1817-1823 and 1816-1820 Greenwood Street,and change the present C2 Commercial District to Cl Commercial District for the property commonly known as 1824-1826 and 1825-1827 Green- wood Street and 1313-1409 Dodge Avenue, and that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect property adjacent thereto or in the immediate area: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as follows: That the following described properties now classified • as C2 Commercial District on the official District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are hereby zoned R3 Two -Family District. The regulations and restric- tions applicable to R3 Two -Family District and the penalties provided for in said Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation of any such regulations and restrictions, shall here- after apply to the following area: Lots 22 through 25 in Block 3 of Brown and Culver's addition to Evanston, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois, and Lots 27 through 29 in Block 3 of N.P. and W.S. Williams Subdivision of Block 3 in Chase and Pitner's Addition to Evanston, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1817-1823 and 1816-1820 Green- wood Street. • • is • That the following described properties now classified as C2 Commercial District on the official District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are hereby zoned Cl Commercial District. Williams Subdivision of Block 3 in Chase and Pitner's addition to Evanston, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, and Lots 20 and 21 in Block 3 of Brown and Culver's addition to Evanston, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1824-1826 and 1825-1827 Green- wood Street and 1313-1409 Dodge Avenue. SECTION 2: The official District Map of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. hereby repealed.
