HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1968-034-O-68v tB 6' • Amended 3-11-68 AN ORDINANCE Amending Section XII of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: Paragraph 1 of Subsection B of Section XII, dealing with the Board of Appeals, is hereby amended to read as follows: 111. Authorization, Composition, Terms, Chairman, Vacancies A Board of Appeals is hereby authorized to be established under authority of the Illinois • Revised Statutes, 1967, Chapter 24, paragraph 11-13-3. The word "Board", when used in this ordinance shall mean the Board of Appeals. The Board of Appeals shall consist of seven members appointed by the Mayor, after consulta- tion with the Planning and Development Committee, and confirmed by the City Council. The members of the Board so appointed shall serve for a term of five years or until their successors are ap- pointed and qualified. One of the members of the Board shall be designated by the Mayor as Chair- man of the Board and shall hold office as Chair- man until his successor is appointed. Such Chairman, or in his absence, the Acting Chairman, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses. Vacancies upon the Board shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose place has become vacant in the manner herein pro- vided for the appointment of such member." SECTION 2: Paragraph 1 of Subsection C of Section XII of the Zoning Ordi- nance is hereby amended to read as follows: is "l. Authorization, Composition, Appointment, Terms of Office, Chairman A Zoning Amendment Committee for the city if hereby created under the authority of the Illinois Revised Statutes, 1967, Chapter 24, paragraph 11-13-14. The Zoning Amendment Committee shall consist of five members appointed by the Mayor, after consultation with the Planning and Development Committee, and confirmed by the City Council. Members of the Committee shall serve for a term of five years or until their successors are appointed and qualified. One of the members of the Committee shall be designated by the Mayor as Chairman of the Committee and he shall hold office as Chairman until his successor is duly appointed and qualified." SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full n force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
