AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning
Ordinance, Adopted November
21, 1960, as amended.
WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment
Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments
to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning the following property:
The properties bounded by the first alley south of
Central Street on the north, Prairie Avenue on the
east, the first alley south of Harrison Street on
the south, and Hartrey Avenue on the west, except
for Lots 13 and 14 in Block 18, and Lots 15 through
17 in Block 17 in North Evanston, a subdivision of
Lots 11 to 16 and the west 4.3 acres of Lots 17
in George Smith's Subdivision of the south part of
Archang's Ouilmette Reserve, and also of Lots 1 and
3 and that part of Lot 2 lying between the Chicago
and Milwaukee Railroad and the west line of Lot 3
produced to the west line of Section 12, located
in the East half of the Northwest quarter of
Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of
the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois,
commonl known as 2021-2$29 Harrison Street (odd
numbers and 2012-2130 Harrison Street (even
numbers).

WHEREAS, a, public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning
Amendment Committee on December 7, 1967, pursuant to notice and
publication a.s required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered
a report recommending a change in zoning of the said area; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest
• and best use of the properties would be to change the present

for the ro erties commonly known as 2021-2 29 Harrison Street
(odd numbers) and 2012-2130 Harrison Street (even numbers), and
that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect
property adjacent thereto or in the immediate area:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of Evanston, adopted November
21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as follows:
That the following described properties now classi-
fied as R5 General Residence District on the official
District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are
hereby zoned R3 Two -Family Residence District. The
regulations and restrictions applicable to R3 Two -
Family Residence District and the penalties provided
for in said Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21,
1960, as amended, for a violation of any such regula-
tions and restrictions, shall hereafter apply to the
following area:
The properties bounded by the first alley south
of Central Street on the north, Prairie Avenue
on the east, the first alley south of Harrison
Street on the south, and Hartrey Avenue on the
west, except for Lots 13 and 14 in Block 18,
and Lots 15 thm ugh 17 in Block 17 in North
Evanston, a subdivision of Lots 11 to 16 and
the west 4.3 acres of Lots 17 in George Smith's
Subdivision of the south part of Archang's
Ouilmette Reserve, and also of Lots 1 and 3
and that part of Lot 2 lying between the Chicago
and Milwaukee Railroad and the west line of Lot
3 produced to the west line of Section 12,

SECTION 2: The official District Map of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with
the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after
• its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by
law.
