HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1968-073-O-6804ri • Revised 7-1-68 73•0-68 AN ORDINANCE Granting the Appeal of Guaranty Dank; and Trust Company, as Trustee under True* No. 11411, for a Variation from the Nonconformi.nr building Regulations of the Bvenston Zoning frdi.nance, Adopted r. ovembex 21., 1960. 3EREAS# the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Evanston held a public hearing on May 210 1968 on the appeal of the Guaranty Rank and 'rust Company, as Trustee under Trust No. 1.1411, fox a variation from the nonconforming building regulation t of the Zoning Ordinance to permit the retention of the twentieth apartment located in the basoment of the subject property at M-807 Reba Place and 630-636 Sherman Avenue; and WMEA , the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended denial of the said appoal.l and ®.• • v-R-Ai:, the City Council has reviewed the evidence adduced at said hearing and is of the opinion that said variation should be granted for a period terminating on April. 30, 19641 and - WHER AS, the City Council has determined that the granting of the variation for said period will not alter they essential character of the neighborhood in which the property is located since the building has been nonconforming for a great many years and has not to date adversely affected the neighborhood; and WHEREAS# the City Council has determined that -the plight of the owner is clue to unique circumstances in that the tenant has occupied the premises for 17 years but utilizes said promises for only a portion of the year and that the apartment is usually vacant, and that the kitchen facilities are disconnected and that the plumbing was capped at the time of the inspection by the Ci.ty:; • and 4D .
