AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning
Ordinance, Adopted November
21, 1960, as amended.
WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning
Amendment Committee for its consideration, the matter of
certain amendments to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning
the following property:
Lot 1 and the West 25 feet of Lot D of Grover and
Currey's Subdivision of Lot 6 (except the North two
feet thereof) and all of Lots 7 and 8 in Block 2
in E. A. Pratt's Addition to Evanston, a Subdivision
of that part of the South West Quarter of the North
West Quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North,
Range 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian in
• Cook County, Illinois, and
Commonly known as 1719 Ridge Avenue; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston
Zoning Amendment Committee on June 21, 1968, pursuant to
notice and publication as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee
rendered a report relating to the zoning of the said area; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest
and best use of the property would be to change the present
B2 Business District to R7 General Residence District for the
property commonly known as 1719 Ridge Avenue, and that said
change in the zoning would not adversely affect property
adjacent thereto or in the immediate area:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960,
as amended, be further amended as follows:
That the following described property now classi-
fied as B2 Business District on the official
District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance is
hereby zoned R7 General Residence District. The
regulations and restrictions applicable to R7
General Residence District and the penalties
provided for in said Zoning Ordinance, adopted
November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation of
any such regulations and restrictions, shall here-
after apply to the following area:
Lot 1 and the West 25 feet of Lot D of
Grover and Currey's Subdivision of Lot
• 6 (except the North two feet thereof) and
all of Lots 7 and 8 in Block 2 in E. A.
Pratt's Addition to Evanston, a Subdivision
of that part of the South West Quarter of
the North West Quarter of Section 18,
Township 41 North, Range 14 East of the
Third Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois, and
commonly known as 1719 Ridge Avenue.
SECTION 2: The official District Map of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance.

in conflict heiewith are hereby

SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
