HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1968-100-O-68186 • Amended 1-20-69 it 1-21-69 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, Adopted November 21, 1960, as amended. WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning the following property: Lots 1 and 11 through 18 of Block 14 and Lots 2 through 10 of Block 13 of the Village of Evanston in Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1700-1746 Hinman Avenue (both odd and even numbers), 517 Church Street and • 516 Clark Street; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee on April 18, 1968, pursuant to notice and publication as required by law; and WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a report recommending a change in zoning of the said area; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest and best use of the properties would be to change the present R1 Single -Family Residence District to R5A General Residence District on the west side of Hinman Avenue, and that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect property adjacent thereto or in the immediate area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 01 • SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as follows: That the following described property, represent- ing the properties on the west side of Hinman Avenue, commonly known as 1700-1746 Hinman Avenue, be rezoned from Rl Single -Family Residence District to R5A General Residence District: Lots 1 and 11 through 18 of Block 14 of the Village of Evanston in Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Princ- ipal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois. SECTION 2: The official District Map of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. hereby repealed.
