HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1968-106-O-68136 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, Adopted November 21, 1960, as amended. WHEREAS, The City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment Committee for its consideration, the matter of certain amendments to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance concerning the following property: Lots 4 and 5 in Paul Pratt's Addition to Evanston, a subdivision of the Southwest 8% acres of the Northeast quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1935-1947 Maple Avenue, 909-923 Garnett Place, and 906-916 Foster Street; and • WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee on June 20, 1968, pursuant to notice and publication as required by law; and WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a report recommending nochange in zoning of the said area; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the highest and best use of the properties would be to change the present U4 University Housing District to U3 University Housing District for the property commonly known as 1935-1947 Maple Avenue, 909- 923 Garnett Place, and 906-916 Foster Street, and that said changes in the zoning would not adversely affect property adjacent thereto or in the immediate area: i_3b A. 0 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be further amended as follows: That the following described properties now classi- fied as U4 University Housing District on the offi- cial District Map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance are hereby zoned U3 University Housing District. The regulations and restrictions applicable to U3 University Housing District and the penalties pro- vided for in said Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, for a violation of any such regulations and restrictions, shall hereafter apply to the following area: Lots 4 and 5 in Paul Pratt's Addition to Evans- ton, a subdivision of the Southwest 81'2' acres of the northeast quarter of the Northwest quar- ter of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, • East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, and commonly known as 1935-1947 Maple Avenue, 909-923 Garnett Place, and 906-916 Foster Street. SECTION 2: The official District Map of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. repealed. 0 SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
