Emery; since ►WHEREAS# under the provisions ° of Section. 3.4-6 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 1969t the- vacancy shall be filled,by special electiont and WHEREA ;y the City Council of tho City of Evanston has determined that the best interest of the Clay of Evanston required that a special election he called for the purpose of filling said vacancy. NOW, THEAEFORC, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNT CIL OF THE CITY € F EVANSTON,, COOK COL74TY„ ILLINGI A iC'IC€4 l: That a special election be erd the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Evons'ton art Saturdav , December 5 1970, for the purpose of electing a Mayor 'to fill the unexpired term of John D. Emery. and until a success6t is elected at the next a h , regular Municipaal 'Slection and had qualified. SECTION 21 That 'ssid election shall be held in the regular polling places in the several precincts of -the City ,of Evanston as designated by the City Council; and that the Judges shall be appointed by the City Councils and shall officiate at and conduct said special elec- tion for and on behalf of the Citiof Evanston. bECTICN 3 r The polls for nPid election shall, be open of six o'clock (6 MOO) A.M. iri owthe morning and shall close at Gil o'clock (610U) V& ., in the evening.
