AN ORDINANCE
Amending Chapter 50, Sign, Canopy and
Awning Regulations, of the Code of the
City of Evanston, as amended, 1957.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 50, providing for the
regulation of signs, canopies and
awnings, be amended by adding new subparagraph (k) to Section
50-15, to read as follows:
"(k) Any sign(s) permitted pursuant to a final
determination following a public hearing before
• the Zoning Board of Appeals."
SECTION 2: That Chapter 50, providing for the
regulation of signs, canopies and
awnings, be further amended by -amending Section 50-38(a) to
read as follows:
"(a) Right to Appeal for Variation. Any person
found in violation of this ordinance by any
decision of the Director may take an appeal from
the decision or apply for a variation from the
requirements of this ordinance to the Sign Ordi-
nance Board of Review. Applications for, variations
may also be made in the absence of a finding of
violation. Where a sign is also in violation of
the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, or requires
a special use permit, applications shall be made to
the 'Zoning Board of Appeals. In such cases, a
variation from the Sign Ordinance shall require the
same approval as is required for a variation from
the Zoning Ordinance."

SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict with the foregoing
are hereby repealed..
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect following its passage
and approval in -the mannerprovided by law..
