AN ORDINANCE

Establishing the Salaries of Certain
Elected Officials

WHEREAS, a regular municipal election shall be held on
Apr.il,3, 1973 for the purpose of electing certain city officials,
incl�ding Y Cit Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, on said date certain Township officers for the
Town of the City of Evanston shall also be elected, to wit:
Township.Supervisor and Township Assessor; and
!WHEREAS, Section. 12-21.2 of Chapter 23 of the Ill. Rev.
Scats., 1971, providesthat the Township Supervisor shall serve
ex officio as Supervisor of General Assistance; and
WHEREAS, Section 130 of Chapter 139 of the Ill. Rev. Stats.,
1971, provides that in towns such as the Town of the City of
Evanston all powers vested by law in such towns shall be exer-
cised by. the city council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the compensation of the City Treas-
urer of the City of Evanston for the four-
year term, payable after election and qualification, shall be
$2,400 per annum salary. Said salary shall be full compensation
for the performance'of all duties imposed by law.
SECTION 2: That the compensation of the Township
Supervisor of the Town of the City of
Evanston for the four-year term, payable after election and

qualification, shall be $2,000 per annum salary, and the com-
pensation as Supervisor of General Assistance shall be $1,000
per annum salary. Said salary shall be full compensation for
the. performance of all duties imposed by law.
SECTION 3: That the compensation of the Township
Assessor of the Town of the City of
Evanston for the four-year term, payable after election and
qualification, shall be $14—,01T per annum salary for the first
two years of said term beginning upon his election and qualifi-

said term. Said salary shall be full compensation for the per-
formance of all duties imposed by law.
SECTION 4: All other ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
. SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in -full force and
effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
