HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1973-023-O-73• 23-0-73 ORDINANCE Granting the Application of the Homecrest Foundation for a Variation from the Provisions of theCode of the City of Evanston, Licensing and Regulating Nursing Homes, Sheltered Care Homes and Homes for the Aged. 08 WHEREAS, the Board of'Health of the City of Evanston has recommended that the application of the Homecrest Foundation for a variation to permit said Foundation to operate the Homecrest Home for the Aged at 1430 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, without the consultation services of a dietitian or nutritionist based upon the affiliation of said facility with the Christian Scientist Church be granted and, WHEREAS the Administration and Public Works Committee of the City Council of the City of Evanston on September 24, 1973, con- ducted a public hearing upon said application for variation, due notice having been published and given in accordance with law, and • WHEREAS the Administration and Public Works Committee of the City Council of the City of Evanston has recommended that said variation be granted, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:' SECTION 1: That a variation from the provisions of the City Code of the City of Evanston relating to , the licensing and regulating of Nursing Homes, Sheltered Care Homes, and Homes for the Aged, adopted February 22, 1971, as amended insofar as said provisions require the consultation services of a dietitian or nutritionist for a period not less than 8 hours each month, is hereby granted to the Homescrest Foundation as the managing founda- tion of the-Homecrest Home for Retired Women, located at 1430 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, to relieve the Homecrest 23-0-73 • 0 - 2 - Foundation from said requirements subject to compliance with all 0 other provisions of the Code of the City of Evanston as they pertain to the operation of said Home for the Aged, other applica- ble laws and for'that period of time during which said facility is operated primarily for the care and benefit of practicing Christian Scientists. SECTION 2: The Public Health Director is hereby ordered and directed to grant such permits as shall be required to effectuate the provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided -by law.
