AN ORDINANCE
Granting the Application of Thomas Vinson,
Jr. and Josephine Vinson for a Variation
from the Home Occupation Regulations of
the Zoning Ordinance to Permit Installation
and Maintenance of a Beauty Shop on Prop-
erty Located in an R5 General Residence
District.

WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Evanston
has recommended that the City Council grant the application of
Thomas Vinson, Jr. and Josephine Vinson for a variation from the
home occupation regulations of -the Evanston Zoning Ordinance,
adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, as such regulations apply
to the property commonly known as 1929 Grey Avenue, Evanston,
Illinois, in order to permit the installation and maintenance
of a beauty shop on property located in an R5 General Residence
District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That a variation from the home occupation
provisions of the Evanston Zoning OrdinancE,
adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, insofar as they pertain
to the property at 1929 Grey Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, and
legally described as -
Lots 23 and 24 in Block 5 in Whipple's Addition to
Evanston, in the West Half of the North East quarter
of the North West quarter of Section 13, Township 41
North, Range 13,.East of the Third Principal Meridian,
in Cook County, Illinois,
is hereby granted to permit the installation and maintenance Oi
a beauty shop on the aforesaid property, subject to compliance
with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other appli-
cable laws and the following conditions:

1) that there shall be no telephone listing for
said beauty shop, and no exterior advertising
of said beauty shop;
2) that the beauty shop shall be limited to one
chair;
3) that the operation of said shop shall be limited
to Josephine Vinson only;
4) that this variation shall terminate no later
than June 1, 1978; and
5) that the applicants shall execute a covenant
reflecting the conditions hereinbefore set
forth.

SECTION 2: That the Director of Inspections and
Permits is directed to grant such permit
as shall be required to effectuate the variation granted here-
under.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage
and approval in the manner provided by law.
