Dublic hearing on April 18,.197?;.and WHEREAS, .The Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee rendered a .report on June,l3, 1973'. Ye,commending changes in the zoning of property within an area bounded on the north by Main Street, on the east,by Custer. Avenue, on the south by Oakton Street, and on the west by Ridge Avenue; NOW „THEREFORE, BE_IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY,.ILLINOIS: SEC,TION•1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, adopted November•21., 1960, as amended, be further amended by reclassifying from R6 General Residence District -the -following described properties:. a) To be reclassified to R5 General Residence District: All of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Bayley's resubdivision of Lots 12 to i.5 of Block 1, in.Adams and Brown's addi- tion, commonly'known as 711_•through 723 Washington Street (north side); Lots 9, 1.0 and 11, in Block 1 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston commonly known as 821. through 833 Sherman Avenue (east side) and 725'through 729 Washington Street (north side); Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Foley's subdivision of Lots 17 and 1.8 of Block 2 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, commonly known as 820 through 832 Sherman Avenue (west side); Lot 16 in Block 2 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, 4, - 2 - - v )G commonly known as 809 through 81.1_.Washington Street - (north side); Lots 5 and 6 and the west 45 feet of the 1.0 foot wide vacated alley, recorded December 29, 1904, as Document 1637940, in Owner's Subdivision of Lots 1, 2.and 3 (except the 5.57 feet) of Block 6 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, commonly known as 708 through 71,0 Washington Street (south side); Lots 1, 2 and 3 in Owner's Resubdivision of Lot 4 in Block 6 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, commonly known • as 71.2 through 71..6 Washington Street (south side); Lots 5, 6 and 7, the 16 foot wide alley adjacent to the south, and the 8 foot wide alley adjoining Lot 7 on the west in Block 6 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, com- monly known as 71.8 through 726 Washington Street (south side); and Lots 1., 2, 3, 4 and 5 and the 16 foot wide alley adjoining Lot 5 on the south in Block 6 of W. Hoags Subdivision of Lots 8 and 9 in Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, commonly known as 803 through 815 Sherman Avenue (east side); Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in Block 5 of Adams and Brown's addition to Evanston, commonly known as 800 through 818 Washington Street (south side); all of which properties are located in that part of the North 1/2 of the North 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 19, Township 41. North, Range 1.4, East of Ridge Road (except the South 2 feet thereof); also Lots 3, 4, 5, 6,.7, 8 and 9, commonly known as 71.1.. through 739 Madison Street in Block 1. of Grove addition to Evanston located in that part of the North 1/2 of the South 1/2 of the Southwest 1.14 of Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of Ridge Road, also the North 8 feet of the South 1/2 of the South 1/2 of the North 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 19, East of Ridge Road, also the South 2 feet of the North 1/2 of the North 1/2 • of the Southwest 1/4, East of School Street, all in Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 1.4, East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois. b) To be reclassified to R3 Two -Family Residence District: 1. All of the property bounded by the first east --west alley north of Seward Street on the north, Custer Avenue on the east, the first east -west alley south of Seward Street on the south, and Sherman Avenue on the west. 2. All of Lots.10, 1.1, 1.2 and 13 in Block 1 of Iglehart's addition to Evanston, a subdivision of 1.2.5 acres in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 19, East of Ridge Road,' known as Lots 5 to 7 of Assessor's Division (by G. M. Huntoon, a plat of the Southl/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 19, Township 41, North, Range 1.4) and part of the Northwest 1/4, East of Ridge Road of Section 30, Township 41. Lots 1., 2 and 3, commonly known as 600 Elmwood, 907 through 911 Seward Street (north side), in Block 3 of - Osborn and Skillman's Subdivision of the South 12.5 acres of Lot 9, in the Assessor's Division by G. M. Huntoon, a. plat of the South 1/2 of the Southwest 1./4 of Section 19, Township 41. North, Range 1.4: 2. Lots 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, commonly known as 819 through 835 Reba Place (north side) in Block 3 of Green and Hubbard's Subdivision of the North 1.2 acres of Lot 9 in the Assessor's Division by G. M. Huntoon, a plat of the South 1./2 of the Southwest 1./4 of Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 1.4. SECTION 2: The official District Map of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
