COUNTY, ILLI'10IS : a $RCTION 1: That Section 2.7-97 and Section " 27'93 of the Code of the City of Evanston, 1957, as amended be and the same a --re hereby father amended so as to read as follows: "Section. 27-97: To facilitate the cleaning of streets and public thoroughfares wi.hin the City of Evanston, the City is hereby divided into six (6) dist.;icts. !4hen signs are erected giving notice thereof it shall be unlawful, where packing is not otherwise prohibited, for any person to stop, stand, par? or leave unattended a motor vehicle upon the following described streets upon the days and between the hours hereinafter Get forth: A DIST UCT ME: All than: part of the City lying east of the west line of id;e Avenue, and south of a line commencing at a point, being the intersection of the north line of Dempster Street and the west line of Ridge Avenue; thence east along 'the said north line of Dempster Street to the center of the right-of-way of the kilwaukee Division of the Chicago and Northtlestern Railway Company; thence southerly along the centerline of said right-of-way to the north line of Lee Street thence east along the north line of Lee Street to the east city limits; 1. Between the hours of nine o'clock. Ali (9:00 Ah) and three o'clock 2,111 (3 : (10 a) On the south side of all street and public thorough- 004 fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction -2- and on the west side of all streets extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on each Tuesday t b) On the north side of all streetsand public thorough- fares.extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and on the east side of all streets and public thoroughfares extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on each Wednesday. B DISTRICT TWO: A7.1 that part of the City lying south cf the north line of Main Street and west of the west line of Ridge Avenue. 1. Between the hours of two o'clock AM (2:00 AM) and six o'clock AM (6:00 AM). a) On the south side of all -streets and public thorough- fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and on the west side of all streets extending in a general northerly.and southerly direction on each 0 Monday. b) On the north side of all streets and public thorough- fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and on the east of all streets and public thoroughfares extending in a general northerly and southerly direction.on each Thursday. C DISTRICT THREE: All that part of the City south of.the north line of Lake Street and north of a line -commencing at a point being the intersection of the west City limits and the north line of Main Street extended.thence easterly along the north line of Main Street to the west line of Ridge Avenue thence northerly along the west line of Ridge Avenue to the north line of Dempster Street, thence easterly along the north line of Dempster Street to the center of the right-of-way of the Milwaukee Division of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and thence southerly along -3- the center line of the aforesaid right-of-way to the inter- section thereof with the north line of Lee Street thence easterly along the north line of Lee Street to the east City limits: 1. D DISTRICT FOUR: All that part of the City lying north of the north lind'of Lake Street and south of a line 0 commencing at a .point being the intersection of the west line of McCormick . Boulevard and the south line of Elgin Road and thence north, northeasterly along said west line, thence becoming the north line of McCormick Boulevard to the east line of Bridge Street, thence east, southeasterly along the east line of Bridge Street to its intersection with the north line of Simpson Street and thence easterly along the north line of Simpson Street and the same extended to the east City limits: 1. Between the hours of two o'clock AM (2:00 AM) and six o'clock AM (6:00 AM). a) On the south side of'all streets and public thorough- fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and on the west.side of all streets extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on each Tuesday. -4- b) On the north side of all streets and public thorough- fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and on the east side of all streets and public thoroughfares 0. . extending in a general northerly and southerly direcdon on each Friday. E DISTRICT FIVE: All.that part of the City lying north of the north line of Simpson Street and the same extended east to the. east City limits and east of the line commencing at a point being the intersection of the north City limits and the center of the right-of-way of the Milwaukee Division of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and thence south easterly along the center of the aforesaid right-of-way�to the intersection thereof with the north line of McCormick Boulevard as extended east and' thence southwesterly along the north line of McCormick Boulevard to its intersection with the east line of.Bridge Street and .- thence easterly along said east line of Bridge Street to the intersection of the north .line of Simpson: 1. During the months of April, May, June, July, August, Sept- ember, October, November, between the hours of two o'clock AM (2:00 AM) and six o'clock AM (6:00 AM). a) On the south side of all streets and•public thorough- fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and -on the west side of all streets extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on each Wednesday. b) On the north side of all streets$nd public thorough- fares extending in a general easterly and westerly direction, and on the east side of all streets and public thoroughfares extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on each Friday. -5- 2. During the months of December, January, February and March, between the hours of two o'clock (2:00 AM) and six o'clock (6-00 AM). a) On the south side of all streets extending in a general easterly -and westerly direction and on the west side of all streets extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. b) On the north side of all streets extending in a general easterly and westerly direction and on the, east side of all streets extending in a general northerly and southerly direction on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of each week. F DISTRICT SIR: All that part of the City lying west of the lin.e.commencing at a point being the intersection of the north City limits and the center line of the right-of-way of the Milwaukee Division of the Chicago Northwestern Railway Company and thence southeasterly along aforesaid center line of the right-of-way of the Northwestern Railway Company to the inter- section thereof with the north line of McCormick Boulevard ex- tended east, thence south westerly along the north line.of- McCormick Boulevard to the intersection thereof with the south line of Elgin Road;. 1. During the months of April, May, June, July, August, Septem- ber, October -and November between the hours of two o'clock.(2:00.. To facilitate the removal of snow and to • assure the.regular flow of traffic during.snowfalls, the following streets and public thoroughfares are hereby desig- nated SNOW ?OUTES: A. SIMPSON STREET - east from its intersection with Crawford Avenue to its intersection with Elgin; and east of its intersection with McCormick Boulevard to its intersection with Green i Bay Road. . NOYES STREET -.east from its intersection.with Green Bay toad to its intersection with Sherman Avenue. 'SHEHIr,AN ROAD "Section 27-98.2: When sins have been erected giving. notice thereof it shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand, park, or leave unattended any motor vehicle upon a designated • snow route, within the City during a S-NOTV1. EYE' EITCY." "Section 27-98.3: A Snow Fmergency is hereby declared to be in effect immediately after two (2).inchesof snow has ac- cumulated and shall remain in effect for the period of 24 hours thereafter or until the snow has been plowed -to the curb lines." "Section 27-98.4: Whenever a motor vehicle has been stopped, parked, or left unattended after the.inception of a Snow Emergency, upon a designated snow route within the City, said vehicle is hereby declared to be a traffic hazard and the Chief of Police shall order said motor vehicle removed • pursuant to the provision of Sections 27-126 throu3h Section 27-134 of this o:cdinance." "Section 27-98.5: No person shall deposit or cause to he deposited any snow upon any street or public thoroughfare." -9- 01Sectiori 27-98.6: No pe-cson shall deposit or cause to be deposited upon any street of the City in such a manner as to abstruct a public sidewalk nor shall any person deposit or cause to be deposited any snow upon a parkway or upon private property so as.to abstr.uct a clear view at the intersection or traveled roadways." "Section 27-98.7: Any person, firm, or corporation who violates the provision of Sections 27-97 or 27-98 together with its subsections thereof inclusive, shall be -guilty of an offense, punishable by a fine. of not less than Three dollars. ($3.00) nore more than two hundred dollars ($200.00). Any..violator may avoid prosecution for violating the pro- vison of this ordinance by paying to the Clerk of the Circuit the minimum applicable penalty provided, Prior to the initiation of legal action against the violator, by sur- rendering the traffic ticket or other notice of violation, either received or placed upon said vehicle. Any person making such payment shall receive a -receipt therefore from the Clerk of the Circuit Court." SECTION 2:" That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Intention of the City Council_is hereby expressed that the provisions of this ordinance are severable and that the invalidity of any section hereof or of any portion of any section hereof, shall not affect any.other section or portion of section of this ordinance. -10- SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in.full force and. effect 30 days from and after its passage,. approval and pub- lication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law on a district by district basis as the appropriate signs are in- stalled.
