AN ORDINANCE
Amending Section 27-1 and 27-91 of the
Code of the City of Evanston to Provide
Definition and to Control the Parking
of Vehicles Other Than Passenger Vehicles
in Predominantly Residential Neighborhoods.
BE IT.ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON,
COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That Section 27-1 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Evanston as amended be further
amended by adding thereto the following definition to follow the
definition of "park":
"Passenger vehicle: a motor vehicle, not a truck or
recreational vehicle, designed for the carrying of
not more than 10 persons.
SECTION 2. That Section 27-1 of the Municipal Code of
Evanston as amended be further amended by
adding thereto the following definition to follow the definition
of "Railroad".
"Recreational vehicle: Every vehicle originally de-
signed or permanently converted and used for living
quarters or for human habitation and not used as a
commercial vehicle, including any house car, house
trailer, camper or private living coach."
SECTION 3: That Section 27-1 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Evanston as amended be further
amended by adding thereto the following definition to follow the
definition of trailer:
"Truck: every motor vehicle designed, used or maintained
primarily for the transportation of property."
SECTION 4: That Section 27-91 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Evanston, 1957, as amended be
further amended to read as follows:
"27-91 - Parking in Predominantly Residential Areas."

It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle, other
• than a passenger vehicle as defined in this Chapter, in any block
in any street in which more than one-half of the buildings in such
block are used exclusively for residential purposes, for a longer
period than is necessary for the reasonably expeditious loading or
unloading of such vehicles. Any person violating the provision of
this Section shall be fined not less than Five Dollars nor more than
Twenty-five Dollars for each offense."
SECTION S: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6: That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
