To Acquire Certain Property
for 0ff-Street Parking Purposes
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has been authorized by law
to acquire real property for off-street parking purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is
necessary amd convenient to acquire the real estate, hereinafter
'described, for off-street parking purposes;
N0Q, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That it is hereby determined that it is
necessary, convenient and desirable for
the City of Evanston to establish off-street parking facilities
in the City of Evanston on the property hereinafter described.. \
SECTION 2: That it is hereby determined that it is
necessary, convenient and desirable for
the City of Evanston to acquire title to and possession of the
following described real estate in the City of Evanston, County
of Cook and State of Illinois, to wit:
Lot Two (2) and the North 54 feet of Lot Three
(3) in Block Fourteen (14) in Evanston, in
Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14 East of
the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois,
which real property is necessary, convenient and desirable for off-
street parking purposes.
SECTION 3: That the Corporation Counsel•of the City

of Evanston be,'and he is hereby authori-
zed, empowered and directed to negotiate for and on behalf of the
City of Evanston with the owner or owners of the real property here_n

described for the purchase thereof by the City of Evanston, and in
the event that the Corporation Counsel is unable to agree with the
;owner of said real property upon the compensation to be paid there-
for, the'Corporation Counsel of the City of Evanston is authorized,
empowered and directed to cause condemnation proceedings to be
instituted for the purpose of acquiring for the City of Evanston
title to and possession of the real property specifically described
in this ordinance, in accordance with the eminent domain laws of
the State of 'Illinois.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
