AN ORDINANCE
Granting a Variation to Amfund, Inc.
from the Building Lot Coverage, Side
Yard, Rear Yard and off -Street Parking
Requirements of the Zoning Ordinance,
and a Special Use Permit to allow cer-
tain Structural Alterations on Property
Located in an R-7 General'Residence District
WHEREAS, on July 16, September 17, October 15, November 19
and December 17, 1974, the Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a
public hearing on the application of Amfund, Inc. for variations
from the building lot coverage, side yard, rear yard and off-
street parking requirements of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance ad-
opted November 21, 1960, as amended, as they apply to property
located at 1615 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, an R-7 General
Residence District, said public hearing having been conducted pur-
suant to notice and publication thereof as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, on July 16, September 17, October 15, November 19
and December 17, 1974, the Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a
public hearing upon the application of Amfund, Inc. for a special
use permit to allow certain structural alterations to the property
located at 1615 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, within an R-7
General Residence District, said public hearing having been con-
ducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof as provided by
law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that
such relief and special use permit be granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of Amfund, Inc. for varia-
tions from the building lot coverage, side yard,
rear yard and off-street parking requirements of the Evanston
Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, insofar

as said provisions pertain to the property located at 1615 Hinman
• Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as:
Lots 7, 8 and 9 and a strip of land five feet
in width adjoining said Lots 7, 8 and 9 on the
Easterly side thereof in Block 21 in Evanston
in the Southeast quarter of Section 18, Town-
ship 41 north, Range 14 East of the Third
Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois,
is hereby granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions
of the Zoning Ordinance and other applicable laws.

SECTION 2: That the application of the aforesaid Amfund,
Inc. for a special use permit to allow structural
alterations consisting of construction of an eight -story exit
stairway in the required north side yard on the property located
at 1615 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, is hereby granted,
subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance and other applicable laws, all in accordance with the
recommendations of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
SECTION 3: The Director of Inspections and Permits is here-
by ordered and directed to grant such permits as
shall be required to effectuate the provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the
manner provided by law.
