HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1978-104-O-78 (2)12/5/78 1/5/79 ,16 104-0-78 AN ORDINANCE Granting A Variation From Permitted Use Provisions of the Zoning Ordinance To Permit Open Storage And Rental Of Trucks At 2125 Dempster Street WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, pursuant to notice and publi- cation, did on October 17, 1978 and November 21, 1978 conduct a public hearing on the application of Buehler Limited and U-Haul Company of Chicago Metroplex for a variation from permitted use provisions of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance,, adopted November 21, 1960 to permit open storage and rental of trucks on property located at 2125 Dempster Street, Evanston, Illinois, an M-3 Manufac- turing District; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that such re- lief be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the application of Buehler Limited and U-Haul Company of Chicago Metroplex for a variation from the permitted use provisions of the Zoning Ordinance to permit open storage and rental of 2-axle trucks in working order and legally operable on the public streets on property located at 2125 Dempster Street and legally described as: That part of the Southwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 13, Township • 41 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, bounded by a line running as follows to wit: commencing at a point 33 feet North of the center line of Dempster Street, Evanston, and 33 feet East of the center line of Hartrey Avenue (extended) in the City of Evanston, and running thence East on the North line of said Dempster Street, 175.0 feet, thence North 257 feet, more i U 0 or less, to a point midway between the North line of said Dempster Street and the South line of Greenwood Street in said city; thence West 175.0 feet to the East line of said Hartrey Avenue (extended); thence South 257 feet, more or less to the place of beginning in Cook County, Illinois, be and hereby islgranted subject to the filing of a covenant setting forth thel conditions of the variations specified herein. SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections & Permits is hereby ordered and directed to grant such permits as shall be reuqired to effectuate provisions of this ordinance. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner pro- vided by law.
