HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1978-096-O-78Y 11/24/78 AN ORDINANCE Adopting A recodification Of The Zoning Ordinance Of The City of Evanston WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has undertaken the recodification of its general laws and ordinances; and WHEREAS, the first segment of such action has resulted in the recodification of the Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has conducted a series of public meetings and hearings beginning April 6, 1978 and concluding November 2, 1978 to consider the product of such • recodification, which hearings were conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has recommended certain editorial changes to improve the content of the ordinance and the meaning thereof in the following specified sections: Old Section a.) III definition of "Garage, private" b.) III "Single famil�detached. dwelling" and "detached dwell- ing" merged c.) III "Dwelling, two family" • New Section 6-2-4 6-2-4 Single-family dwelling 6-2-4 Old Section d.) III "Lots" e.) III "Ground Floor Area" f.) IV D "Allowable Uses of Land Buildings" g.) IV J.6.C. "Permitted Obstruct- ion in Yards, Special Exception, Business Signs" h.) X A.8.b. "Off -Street Loading Berths" i.) X B.10.d "Parking Requirement" New Section 6-2-4 6-2-4 6-3-1 6-3-1 (F) 6-9-2-10(D)3 ' WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council that no other substance change shall be made in the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance; and • WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has recommended the adoption of such recodification; • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, 1960, as amended, be further amended to read as follows: -2- • • SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall not be deemed to have changed the substance of any provision of the existing Zoning Ordinance except those sections enumerated hereafter which should repeal any conflicting pro- vision: New Section 6-2-4 "Garage" 6-2-4 "Single-family dwelling" 6-2-4 "Two family dwelling" 6-2-4 "Lot" 6-2-4 "Floor area, ground" 6-3-1 "Allowable uses of Land and Buildings" 6-3-6-1 (F) "Permitted Obstruction in Yards, Special Exceptions, Business Signs" 6-9-1-8 "Off Street Loading Berths" . 6-9-2-10(D)3 "Required Number of Off Street Parking Spaces, Multiple -Family Dwelling" SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner prescribed by law.
