Authorizing The Sale Of Municipally
Owned Real Property Commonly
Known As 1515E Darrow Avenue
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is the owner of property legally des-
PARCEL 1:
That part of Lot 9 lying West of a line drawn from a
point in the North line thereof 58.82 feet East of
the North West corner thereof to a point in the South
line thereof 61 feet East of the South West corner
thereof;
ALSO
PARCEL 2:
The South half of the East 20 feet as measured at
right angles of Lot 9 all being in Block 11 in Hin-
man's Addition to Evanston being a Subdivision of the
North West quarter of the South East quarter of Sec-
tion 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the
Third Principal Meridian;
ALSO
PARCEL 3:
Easements as set forth in the Declaration of Easements
and Exhibit "1" and "2" thereto attached dated July 7,
1961 and recorded July 11, 1961 as document 18212271,
made by Darrow Grove Homes, Inc., an Illinois Corpora-
tion,
And as created by the Deed from Darrow Grove Homes, Inc.
an Illinois Corporation, to Benjamin A. Green and
Icyline Green, his wife, dated April 10, 1970 and re-
corded April 28, 1970 as document 21145325;
(A) For the benefit of Parcels 1 and 2 aforesaid for
ingress and egress over and upon the North 6 feet, as
measured at right angles (except hte East 50 feet as
measured at right angles) of Lot 8 and the South 6
feet, as measured at right angles (except the East 50
feet, as measured at right angles) of Lot 9 all in
Block 11 in Hinman's Addition to Evanston aforesaid
(excepting from the above that part falling in Parcel
1 aforesaid); .
(B) For the benefit of Parcels 1 and 2 aforesaid for
ingress and egress over and upon the North 3 feet, as
measured at right angles, of the East 50 feet, as
measured at right angles of Lot 8; and the South 3
feet as measured at right angles of the East 50 feet,

South 2 feet; as measured at right angles, of Lot 10;
all in Block 11 in Hinman's Addition to Evanston
aforesaid (excepting from the above those parts fall-
ing in Parcels 1 and 2 aforesaid); all• in Cook County,
Illinois,
commonly known as 1515-B Darrow Avenue, Evanston, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City Council the City of Evanston has determined
that it is no longer necessary, appropriate, or in the best interest of the
City of Evanston that it retain title to said real estate, and that said real
estate i.s not required for the use of the City of Evanston; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined
that the best interest of the City would be served by the conveyance of said
property to a qualified party who would be able to bring it into compliance
with all applicable building, housing, and zoning codes, and make said proper-
ty available for inclusion in the u.S. Department of Housing and Urban Devel-
option "Section 8" rent subsidy program if the unit qualifies; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to ordinance 40-0-78 notice was given of the pro-
posal to sell said real estate, said notice having been published for three
(3) successive weeks in the Evanston Review, a newspaper published in the
City of Evanston; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice bids were opened by the City
Manager on September 11, 1978.
WHEREAS, the following bid for the purchase of such property has
been received:

WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the best inter-
est of the City of Evanston and its residents will be served by the acceptance
of the bid submitted by John Ingram and the sale of the aforesaid real estate
-to such bidder in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: The City Council finds as fact the recitals hereinabove
set forth.
SECTION 2: The bid of John Ingram in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($20,000.00) is hereby accepted by the City
Council of the City of Evanston for the sale of the following described real
estate:
PARCEL 1:
That part of Lot 9 lying West of a line drawn from a
point in the North line thereof 58.82 feet East of
the North West corner thereof to a point in the South
line thereof 61 feet East of the South West corner
thereof;
ALSO
PARCEL 2:

Illinois,
commonly known as 1515B Darrow Avenue, Evanston, Illinois.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
sign, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to attest, a contract for the sale and purchase of the aforesaid
real estate, which contract shall be in accordance with the specifications,
the bid submitted thereon and accepted by the City Council in accordance with
law.
SECTION 4: Upon satisfaction of the terms of the aforesaid contract,
and upon the payment or securing of the aforesaid bid
price in the manner provided in said contract, the Mayor is hereby authorized
and directed to convey and transfer the aforesaid real estate to John Ingram
by a proper deed of conveyance, stating therein the aforesaid consideration,
and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to acknowledge and attest such deed,
and to affix thereto the Seal of the City of Evanston.
SECTION 5: The Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized respect-
ively, to execute and attest such other documents as
may be necessary to the conveyance herein authorized.

SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by a vote of at least three -
fifths (3/5) of the elected Aldermen now holding office, and approval in the
manner provided by law.
