AN ORDINANCE
Amending Ordinance 40-0-78
For The Sale Of
1515-B Darrow Avenue
WHEREAS, there have been delays in the. sale by the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to the -
City of certain property commonly known as 1515-B Darrow Avenue,
Evanston, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, new energy conservation measures of the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development may require

expenditures by the City on insulation, piping, windows, or doors;

y NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Section 3 of Ordinance 40-0-78 be and
herebyis amended so that the final para-
graphs P
graphs of said Section shall read as follows:

The sale is subject to the following conditions:
ja) the purchasers must deposit in escrow an amount
of TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) to be cre-
dited to the City of Evanston for any insulation
repairs required to be made by the City under
the Energy Conservation Measure Rider to the
contract between the United States Department of
• Housing and Urban Development and the City of
Evanston;
b) the purchasers must be able to bring the property
into compliance with the zoning, building, and
housing codes of the City of Evanston within 120

days of delivery to title or closing of the trans-
action; and
c) the property shall be available for inclusion in the
Section 8 rent subsidy program. A minimum bid of
TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) shall be re-
quired.
"The City of Evanston hereby solicits bids for the pur-
chase of said real estate. All such bids should be in
writing and filed in the office of the City Manager,
City of Evanston, Municipal Building, 1501 Oak Avenue,
Evanston, Illinois 60204, on or before September 7, 1978
at the hour of 11:00 A.M. The City reserves the right
to reject any and all bids. The City Council will con-
sider all reasonable methods of conveying title, in-
cluding conventional financing, contract purchase, and
cash.
"The City Manager is authorized to select a deadline for
the submission of bids consistent with publication re-
quirements of thirty (30) days advance notice, and con-
sistent with the closing of the sale by the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development to the City."
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval,
' and publication in the manner provided by law.
