Authorizing The Transfer Of
Property Known As 1501 Oak Avenue
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined it
to be in the best interests of the City to cause the premises commonly known
as 1501 Oak Avenue to be advertized and offered for sale for development; and

WHEREAS, in furtherance of such decision bids were solicited by
_ advertizing therefor in the manner prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the City received several timely proposals for the purchase
and development of the property on April 4, 1978 as required by the bid
• solicitation; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the bid of E. E. Raymond and F. E. Raymond,
Inc. in the amount of NINE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS •'
($917,700.00) is found by the City Council to be in the best interests of the
City of Evanston; and.
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to authorize the
sale of 1501 Oak Avenue to E. E. Raymond and F. E. Raymond, Inc. by ordinance
subject to. certain conditions:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
• SECTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a deed to
the property commonly known as 1501 Oak Avenue, Evanston,
Illinois and legally described as follows:
Lot 3 and Lot 4 in Owner's Subdivision of Lots 8 to 12,
inclusive, in A. J. Brown's Subdivision of the West 244
feet of Block 54 in the Original Village (now City) of

Evanston, in Cook County, Illinois. (In the W 1/2 of
the SW 1/4 of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14,
East of the Third Principal Meridian,
upon the payment by the purchaser of the consideration set forth in the bid
proposal dated April 4, 1978, submitted by E. E. Raymond and F. E. Raymond,
Inc. subject to the following terms and conditions:
(a) that the improvement of the property be substan-
tially in conformance with the bid proposal and
preliminary plans therefor submitted'to and re-
viewed by the City Council on behalf of the
successful bidder.
(b) that the bidder include with the purchase of each
unit developed and sold the transfer of one off-
street parking space without additional consider-
ation.
(c) that the successful bidder comply in all respects
with the requirements and conditions imposed by
this Ordinance, Ordinance 12-0-78 as modified by
Ordinance 27-0-78, and the building, zoning, and
all other laws of the City of Evanston relating

o the development of the parcel herein authorized
to be conveyed.
SECTION 2: That the transfer shall be concluded upon a date mutually
agreed upon by the City and the purchaser, provided that
the purchaser has fulfilled the obligations imposed hereby.
SECTION 3: The effective date of this ordinance shall be deemed the
date of acceptance for the purpose of determining other
applicable dates set forth as conditions of sale in Ordinances 12-0-78 and
27-0-78.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, and approval in the manner pro-
vided by law.
