HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1979-007-O-79Y 1/23/79 ' 3/15/79 7-0-79 AN ORDINANCE Granting A Special Use Permit For The Premises At 1725 Orrington Avenue WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals con- ducted public hearings on November 2.1, 1978 and December 12, 1978 upon the application by Northwestern University for a special use to allow the retention of the use of a portion of the building at 1725 Orrington Avenue, property located in an R-7 General Residence District, as a dormitory for not more than 515 students; said public hearings having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner pre- scribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that such special use permit be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the application of Northwestern University for a special use permit to allow the retention of the use of a portion of the building as a dormitory for not more than 515 students on,property at 1725 • Orrington Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as follows: 1. • • 7-0-79 The South Half of Lot 3, Lot 4, 5, 6 and 7, both inclusive, in Block 15 in the Village, now City of Evanston, in the North Half of Section, 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, i is granted subject to compliance with all other applicable pro- visions of the Zoning Ordinance and all other applicable laws and the condition that said special use permit shall terminate at the end of ten (10) years. SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby directed to issue such permit pursuant to the terms of this ordinance. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by the law. Introduced 12.
