HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1980-104-O-809/30/80 104-0-80 AN ORDINANCE An Ordinance Authorizing the Sale by Public • Auction of Personal Property Owned_ by the City of Evanston WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said personal property at a public auction to be held on Saturday, October 18, 1980, at 12:00 NOON; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON: • SECTION 1: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal A Code, Illinois Revised Statutes, C24, Section 11-76-4, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Evanston find that the following described personal property: I.D. YEAR MAKE MODEL VALUE RL41K8A181891 27B 1977 Plymouth Sedan $100 1 D14AB55078773 575 1975 Dodge Pick -Up 200 BB22AB2V650249 910 1972 Dodge Van 200 DP41M6D107778 200A 1976 Dodge Sedan 200 now owned by the City of Evanston, is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Evanston and the best interests of the City of Evanston will be served by its sale. • SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the City of Evanston, at public auction on Saturday, October 18, 1980, at 12:00 NOON at the Public Works Center, 222 104-0-80 North Ridge Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said personal property. • SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to advertise the sale • of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction. SECTION 4: No bid which is less than the minimum price set forth in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted. SECTION 5: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to enter into an agree- ment for the sale of said personal property. The auction shall be conducted and the auctioneer shall be compensated in the manner set forth in the contract attached hereto and made part of this ordinance. SECTION 6:" Upon payment of the full auction price, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property, to the successful bidder. SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, by a vote of at least three - fourths of the corporate authorities, and approved in the manner provided by law.
