_ • Granting a Special Use for
a Parking Structure at
355 Ridge and
Amending Ordinance 46-0-80
s! WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public
1;hearing on July 15, 1980 and again on August 19, 1980 upon the application
of Saint Francis Hospital for a modification of that special use previously
[granted by Ordinance 46-0-80 to permit construction of a five -story parking
;structure, and to consider amending said Ordinance 46-0-80 so as to permit
three stair and elevator towers to serve the previously approved proposed
1parking structure, on property located at 355 Ridge Avenue in an R6 General
1Residence District, said hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice
[!and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and
�! WHEREAS, the.Zonin Board of Appeals noted that said towers were

• ;;indicated on the plans previously submitted to it and it has recommended that

;;the application for said special use and the amendment to Ordinance 46-0-80

I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
jEVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of Saint Francis Hospital for a

special use pursuant to Sections 6-12-9-2 and 6-5-7(B)3b

i�of the Zoning Ordinance to permit construction of a five -story, 796 car parking
�t
!}structure and three combined stair and elevator towers to serve the proposed
parking structure, two of which will be 75 feet in height and one of which
11will be 64-1/2 feet in height, on the property located at 355 Ridge Avenue
jland legally described as follows:
• '� Lot 2, except the East 669.00 feet thereof, all of Lot 3 and
that part of Lot 5 lying North of a line 1462.61 feet North of
and parallel with the South line of the N.W. 1/4 of Section
30, Township 41 North, Range 14 East of the 3rd Principal
Meridian, in County Clerk's Division of unsubdivided lands in

j the N.W. 1/4 of Section 30, Township 41 North, Range 14 East
of the 3rd Principal Meridian (excepting the Westerly 33.00
feet of said Lots taken for Ridge Avenue),

is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning i
!� Ordinance, other applicable laws and the condition that the parking

structure be constructed in conformity as to height, bulk exterior con-
figuration, ingress and egress with the plans submitted in connection with i

!! this case and substantially in conformity as to all other aspects of such
plans which were identified as the Boards Exhibit 1.

SECTION 2: That those sections of Ordinance 46-0-80 limiting i
the height of said parking structure to 55 feet be i
and the same hereby are specifically repealed, all other sections of said I
Ordinance to remain in full force and effect.

f SECTION 3: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby
directed to issue such permit pursuant to the terms
i�
of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner
I
!� provided by the law.
