HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1980-074-O-80C 4 I • 7/14/80 7/16/80 74-0-80 AN ORDINANCE Amending Section 6-8-4(B)l of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee conducted public hearings on December 6,' 1979, January 3, 1980, and monthly until July 3, 1980 to consider an amendment to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, Section 6-8-4(B)l to allow advertising and promotional products made out of paper, metal, plastic or other materials as a permitted use in M3 Restricted Manufacturing Districts; said public Bearings having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and i WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has recommended that i I f Section 6-8-4(B)l of the Zoning Ordinance be amended; i I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: i i j SECTION 1: That the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, i 1960, as amended be and is hereby further amended by ,revising Section 6-8-4(B)1 to read as follows: (B) PERMITTED USES: 1. The following uses, subject to all the provisions of 6-8-4: Uses permitted in C Districts, except new dwelling units are not permitted other than one for a watchman or janitor employed on the premises or those which replace existing dwelling units which are demolished or destroyed. Animal hospitals. Auditoriums and arenas --open or enclosed. { Automobile laundries. Bakeries. Building material sales and millwork but not including ready -mix concrete plants. Bookbinding. Cartage and express facilities. Cold storage plants. Contractors' or construction offices and shops such as building, cement, electrical, heating, masonry, painting, plumbing, refri- 6 74-0-80 geration and roofing, provided that outside storage of material is screened by a solid wall or uniformly painted solid fence at least eight feet (8') high. Dyeing and rug cleaning establishments. • ;� Frozen food lockers. Fuel sales and storage. Garages, public --including body repair and painting. Ice and ice cream production and.distribution. Laundries. Linen, towel, diaper and other similar supply services. Machinery rental, sales and service. Machine shops. Mail order houses. �j Milk bottling and distribution. Monument and ornamental stone cutting. Open sales lots. �( Packaging and crating. Printing on all materials, including plastics and metals, and assembling of finished products. Shops for repair of furniture, appliances and office equipment. i; Shops for soldering and welding. Sign painting. Storage and warehousing establishments. Trailer sales and rental --for use with private passenger motor vehicles. Wholesale establishments. Accessory uses to the above permitted uses. i� SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict • ii herewith are hereby repealed. 14 SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
