HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1980-045-O-804-28-80 45-0-80 AN ORDINANCE Amending Bond Requirements for Auctioneer License NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Title 3, Chapter 11, Section 2(b) of the City Code of Evanston, 1979, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: Before becoming an auctioneer, every person shall execute a bond to the City, with a solvent and responsible surety company authorized to do business under the laws of the State as surety thereon, to be approved by the City Clerk, in the penal sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), conditioned upon the due observance of the provisions of this Code and other ordinances of the City. The bond form shall contain a provision requiring the surety to investigate and defend third party suits. Any applicant for an auctioneers license, who is the owner or manager of a business or commercial undertaking established in the City of Evanston for the three (3) consecutive years prior to application shall be exempt from this require- ment. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
