AN ORDINANCE
Granting a Special Use
on the Property Located
at 2425 Oakton Street
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public
hearing on March 25, 1980 and again on April 15, 1980 upon the application
of Philip V. Zera and Alex A. Zera for a special use to permit construction
of a ready -mix concrete plant on property located at 2425 Oakton Street,
Evanston, Illinois, property located in an M4 Manufacturing District; said
public hearings having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication
thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the
application for said special use be granted;
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
6.VANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION 1: That the application of Philip V. Zera and Alex A.
Zera for a special use to permit construction of a ready -mix concrete plant
on the property located at 2425 Oakton Street, Evanston, Illinois, legally
described as follows:
PARCEL ONE: That part of the Southwest quarter of Section
24, Township 41 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, bounded and described as follows: Commencing at
the West 1/4 corner of said Section 24; thence South 2
degrees, 28 minutes and 13 seconds West, along the West line
of Section 24, a distance of 1,363.60 feet to a point herein-
after described as Point "A"; thence South 87 degrees, 26
minutes and 17 seconds East, a distance of 254.23 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING of the parcel of land herein described;
thence continuing South 87 degrees, 26 minutes and 17 seconds
East, a distance of 50.0 feet, more or less, to a point
• distant 28.50 feet Northwesterly, measured at right angles,
from the center line of Chicago & Northwestern Transportation
Company Yard Track ICC No. B--29, as said Yard Track is
presently located; thence Southwesterly parallel with
said yard track center line, a distance of 310.0 feet;
thence North 87 degrees, 31 minutes and 47 seconds West
• (at right angles to the West line of said Section 24),
a distance of 187.44 feet to a point on the West line of
said Section 24; thence North 2 degrees, 28 minutes and
13 seconds East along the West line of said Section 24,
a distance of 100.0 feet, more or less, to a point dis-
tant 200.0 feet South 2 degrees, 28 minutes and 13 seconds
West from aforesaid Point "A"; thence North 66 degrees,
13 minutes and 2 seconds East, a distance of 41.65 feet;
thence North 24 degrees, 29 minutes and 53 seconds East,
a distance of 100.0 feet; thence North 66 degrees, 13
minutes and 2 seconds East, a distance of 200.0 feet to
the point of beginning, all in Cook County, Illinois.
PARCEL TWO: That part of the Southwest quarter of Section
24 and the Southeast quarter of Section 23, all in Township
41 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner
of the Southwest quarter of said Section 24; thence South
2 degrees, 28 minutes and 13 seconds West, 1,651.7.6 feet
on the West line of said Section 24, to the true POINT OF
BEGINNING; thence South 87 degrees, 31 minutes and 47
seconds East, 30.00 feet; thence South 2 degrees, 28 minutes
and 13 seconds West, 130.42 feet; thence South 13 degrees,
36 minutes and 32 seconds East, 111.58 feet; thence South
2 degrees, 43 minutes and 28 seconds West, 143.34 feet;
thence South 11 degrees, 48 minutes and 34 seconds West,
• 382.55 feet; thence South 24 degrees, 20 minutes and 48
seconds West, 247.86 feet to the Northerly right-of-way
line of Oakton Street; thence North 89 degrees, 5 minutes
and 32 seconds West, 32.70 feet on said Northerly line of
Oakton Street to the Westerly right-of-way line of the Chicago
& Northwestern Railway Company; thence North 24 degrees,
20 minutes and 48 seconds East, 339.35 feet on said Westerly
right-of-way line, to the West line of said Section 24; thence
North 2 degrees, 28 minutes and 13 seconds East, 109.43 feet
on the West line of said Section 24; thence North 11 degrees,
48 minutes and 34 seconds East, 189.05 feet; thence North
2 degrees, 43 minutes and 28 seconds East, 136.66 feet;
thence North 13 degrees, 36 minutes and 32 seconds West, -
111.52 feet to the West line of said Section 24; thence
North 2 degrees, 28 minutes and 13 seconds East, 127.16 feet
on the West line of said Section 24 to the true point of be-
ginning, all in Cook County, Illinois.
is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following conditions;
1. The ready -mix concrete plant shall be constructed in
conformity with the site plan date stamped December
14, 1979 by the City.
• 2. The property shall be subdivided as required by Section
6-11-2-1 of the Zoning Ordinance.
SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby
directed to issue such permit pursuant to the terms of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by
law.
