HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1980-037-O-80r 37-0-80 AN ORDINANCE !I Granting Variations from the Side Yard and Off -Street Parking Regulations and Special Uses for a Parking Lot and Golf ` Course Maintenance Building at 1028-30 Central Street WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public :{hearing on April 1, 1980 upon the application of the City of Evanston (lessee) I'for variations from the side yard and off-street parking regulations of the 1;Zoning Ordinance and for a special use to allow construction of a parking lot on the premises with a five-foot east side yard with some of said parking +'spaces to be partially located within said yard; and for a special use to I! .allow construction of a golf course maintenance building on property located at 1028-30 Central Street in an RI Single -Family Residence District owned by !!the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago; said hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the appli- .ication for said variations and said special use be granted; it II NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF fEVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: j SECTION 1: That the application of the City of Evanston (lessee) I for variations from the side and off-street parking I; regulations of the Zoning Ordinance and for a special use to allow construction I� Hof a 65-car parking lot on the premises with an east side yard of five feet instead of the 15 feet required and some of said parking spaces to be partially located within said yard; and for a special use to allow construction " of a golf course maintenance building, on the property located at 1028-23 Central Street and legally described as follows: I, I i I� 1 ,I r 71 f 0 t, ij 37-0-80 SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect ;j from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. �j Introduced 1980 Adopted�j 1980 Ali . r j i 'ATTEST: i �i ty Clerk if J Approved as /too form: Corporation Counsel j, i Approved l �% (� 1980 'May -or/ ffla i '•! 37-0-80 PARCEL 1: All that part of the W1/2 of the Northwest fractional quarter of Section 7, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying iSouth of the South line of Central Street, lying West of (� a line 50 feet normally distant Southwesterly from and parallel to the Westerly line of the right of way of Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Company, as it existed on January 14, 1908, and lying East of a line parallel to and 852 feet East of the West line of said Section 7 (except therefrom, the South 200 feet thereof), in the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois; also, a 20 foot highway -and -utility -easement to be used jointly ! with the public, said 20 foot strip to be located Easterly of the East line of the above described property, ex- tending from the South line of the W1/2 of the Northwest fractional quarter of said Section 7 to the South line of �f Central Street, parallel with the railroad right of way. PARCEL 2: The South 200 feet of the Northwest fractional quarter of Section 7, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying West of a line 50 feet normally distant Southwesterly from and parallel to the Westerly line of the right of way of Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Company, as it existed on January 14, 1908, and lying East of a line drawn parallel to and 852 feet East of the West line of said Section 7, except the South 20 feet thereof; containing 0.749 acres, more or less, situated in the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois; also, a 20 foot highway -and -utility -easement to be used jointly with the public, said 20 foot strip to be located Easterly of the East line of the above described property, extending from the South line of said property to the South line of Central Street, parallel with the railroad right of way; and a 5 foot easement for a sidewalk to be used jointly with the public, extending from the South line of the property along the West property line to the Northwest corner of the property; thence extending East along the North line of the property to the existing concrete walk located 65 feet East of the Northwest corner of the property. PARCEL 3: The South 20 feet of the South 200 feet of the _ W1/2 of the Northwest fractional quarter of Section 7, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal k Meridian, lying West of line 50 feet normally distant Southwesterly from and parallel to the Westerly line of the right of way of Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Company, as it existed on January 14, 1908, and lying East of a line parallel to and 852 feet East of the West line of said Section 7, in the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois. is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the condition that said parking lot be constructed in conformity with the site plan dated February 12, 1980. SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby directed to issue such permit pursuant tb the terms of this ordinance. -2- I
