AN ORDINANCE
An Ordinance Dedicating
Certain City Owned Property
at Leon Place and Asbury Avenue
for a Public Street Relocation
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has deemed that

it is in the best interests of the City to expand the new City yards site i
i
at Simpson Street and Asbury Avenue while also maintaining as a right of way
Asbury Avenue and Leon Place; and
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has acquired ownership of c.ertain
real property on Leon Place at its intersection with Asbury Avenue which
property provides a means to redesign and relocate further east Asbury
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has deemed it
in the best interests of the City of Evanston to dedicate as owner certain
portions of its property at 1249 and 1243-45 Leon Place, and to accept said
dedication for purposes of a public street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That that triangular portion of property east of the
east line of Asbury Avenue from a point 132.24 feet
North of the North line of Leon Place to a point 56.79 feet east of the east `
line of Asbury Avenue on the North line of Leon Place, and legally described
as follows: i

That part of Lot 10 and 11 in Leonhart's Addition
to Evanston, being a subdivision of part of the
Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14 East of
the Third Principal Meridian, according to the.plat
thereof recorded November 1, 1872, in Book 3, page
30, as Document 65851, in Cook County, Illinois,
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the East
line of Asbury Avenue with the North line of Leon
Place as occupied; thence Northerly along said East
line of Asbury Avenue, said East line of Asbury
Avenue also being the West line of Lot 11 in afore-
said Leonhart's Addition to Evanston, a distance of
132.24 feet; thence Southeasterly along a straight
line a distance of 143.76 feet to a point on said
North line of Leon Place as occupied, said point
being 56.79 feet Easterly of, as measured along
said North line of Leon Place as occupied, said
point of intersection of the East line of Asbury
Avenue with the North line of Leon Place as
occupied; thence Westerly along said North line
of Leon Place as occupied a distance of 56.79 feet
to the point of beginning.
as set forth in a plat of dedication dated January 29, 1980, by Illinois Land
Surveyor 35-2232, attached to and incorporated into this ordinance, be and
is hereby dedicated for and accepted as a public street by the City Council
of the City of Evanston.
SECTION 2: That certain certified copy of said ordinance, to-
gether with a true and correct plat of said public
alley be recorded at the Office of Recorder Deeds in Cook County,.Illinois.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in'full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the
manner provided by law.
