HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1980-034-O-80ok r� ' 34-0-80 I AN ORDINANCE Vacating Portions of Asbury Avenue and Leon Streets for Expansion of City Yards BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, -001 11COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That that portion of Asbury Avenue south of Simpson Street and north of the south line of Leon Place and rthat portion of Leon Place between Asbury and a point 291.37 feet vest of the westerly line of Ridge {Avenue and legally described as: That part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, and that part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian, both in Cook County, Illinois, described as follows: Beginning at a point on the South line of Leon Place, said point being 291.41 fee-t, record, 291.37 feet, measured, Westerly of the Westerly line of Ridge Avenue, as measured along said South line of Leon Place; thence Westerly along said South line of Leon Place a distance of 354.86 feet to a point on the West line of Asbury Avenue; thence Northerly along said West line of Asbury Avenue a distance of 320.64 feet to a point on the South line of Simpson Street, said South line of Simpson Street being 33.00 feet Southerly of, as measured perpendicular thereto, and parallel with the North line of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 13; thence Easterly along a line 33.00 feet Southerly of, as measured perpendicular thereto, and parallel with the North line of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 13 a distance of 16.02 feet; thence Southerly along a line 16.00 feet Easterly of, as measured perpendicular thereto, and parallel with said West line of Asbury Avenue a distance of 133.09 feet; thence Southeasterly along a line which forms an angle of 23 degrees 16 minutes 21 seconds to the left of the prolongation of the last descried line a distance of 187.12 feet to a point 16.00 feet Northerly of, as measured perpen- dicular thereto, said South line of Leon Place; thence Easterly along a line 16.00 feet Northerly of, as measured perpendicular thereto, and parallel with said South line of Leon Place a distance of 267.84 feet; thence Southwesterly along a line which forms an angle of 100 degrees 29 minutes 21 seconds to the right of the prolongation of the last described line a distance of 16.27 feet to the point of beginning. as cross -hatched, measured and indicated by the words "hereby vacated" on the plat dated January 31, 1980 by -registered land surveyor 35-2232, hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance, is hereby vacated and closed. r l 34-0-80 Inasriuch as said vacation will allow for an expansion of the City yards i and a restructuring of that intersection of Leon Place and Asbury Avenue. It is further found that said expansion will serve the interest of the public. h SECTION 2: The City of Evanston hereby reserves to itself and to all public utilities owning g public service facilities, such rights -of -way, license and easement rights to such equipment as is presently installed and located on those portions of the public right-of-way ;. hereby closed together with the right of ingress and egress for the main- tenance, reneweal and reconstruction thereof. SECTIO14 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
