HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1981-061-O-81,. 6/11/81 61-0-81 AN ORDINANCE i 1 Amending Section 10-11-17 of the Evanston City Code, 1979, i and adding Section 10-8-10 j I WHEREAS, it has been determined that more efficient and coordinated ! collection procedures for violation of parking restrictions and vehicle I ;:sticker license enforcement would be obtained through use of certified mail I ,:for service of summonses, which procedure is provided for by state statute in cases where fines obtained would not exceed $200.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: i; SECTION 1: That Section 10-11-17: PARKING VIOLATION PENALTIES of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, i be further amended so that the final paragraph of said section of this chapter shall read: • ?' Notwithstanding the specified fines applicable to the violations her scheduled and additional penalties applicable in the event of non- payment, the maximum fine to be imposed upon a finding of guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction shall not exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense. i SECTION 2: That Title1D, Chapter 8 of the City Code of the City !: of Evanston, 1979 as amended, shall be further amended by adding Section 10-8-10 to this chapter to read as follows: i 10-8-10 PENALTIES: Notwithstanding the specified fines applicable to violations herein scheduled for payment when paid prior to initiation of any court action, the maximum fine to be imposed upon a finding of guilty as to any violation of this chapter by a court of competent jurisdiction shall not exceed two hundred dollars ($00.00) for each offense. SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
