AN ORDINANCE
Granting a Special Use Permit for
a Two Story, plus Basement Addition,
and a Temporary Exception from
i Off -Street Parking at 355
�! Ridge Avenue (St. Francis Hospital)

WHEREAS, The Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public
hearing on November 18, 1980 and December 16, 1980 upon the application of
St. Francis Hospital for a special use pursuant to Section 6-12-9-2 of the
Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction of an addition to be used pri-
roarily for administrative office space, a new main hospital lobby and to
house the existing Adult and Child Guidance Center, and for a temporary
exception from the off-street parking requirements during construction,
all on property located in an R-6 General Residence District; said hearing
having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the
manner prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the
application for said special use, and temporary exception for off-street
parking be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of St. Francis Hospital for
' a special use pursuant to Section 6-12-9-2 of the
Zoning Ordinance to permit construction of (a) a two story, plus basement
jI addition to be used primarily for administrative office space, a new main
hospital lobby and to house the Adult and Child Guidance Center, and (b)
a temporary exception from the off-street parking requirement in Section
6-9-2-10(P) to allow the required 1327 off-street parking spaces to be
reduced to approximately 1227 spaces during the construction of -the above
described addition on the property located at 355 Ridge Avenue, and
legally described as follows:

Lot 2, except the East 669.00 feet thereof
all of Lot 3 and that part of Lot 5 lying
North of a line 1462.61 feet North of and
parallel with the South line of the N.W.
1/4 of Section 30, Township 41 North, Range
14.East of the Third Principal Meridian,
in County Clerk's Division of unsubdivided
lands in the N.W. 1/4 of Section 30, Town-
ship 41 North, Range 14 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, (excepting the Wes erly
33.00 feet of said lots taken for Ridge
Avenue)
(A) The West 60.00 feet of the East 669.00
feet of Lot 2, afo.resaid.
(B) Lots 2 to 9, both inclusive in Block 3
in Valeria M. Williams Addition to Evanston,
being a subdivision in the N.W. 1/4 of Section
30 Township 41 North, Range 14 East of the
Third Principal Meridian.
(C) The West 258 feet of the East 609 =eet of
said Lot 2, in Said County Clerk's Div-sion.
(D) The vacated 8 foot Public alley lying West
of and adjoining said lots 2 thru 9 in said
Block 3; Also, that part of vacated log. 1 in
said Block 3, lying South of the said South
line of lot 2 in County Clerk's Division and
East of the East line of said lots 3 & 5 in
said County Clerk';s Division, (contain-ng
26.606 sq. ft. (B) and (D)).
is granted subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance, other applicable laws and -the following conditions:
1. That the proposed addition be constructed in substantial con-
formity with the plans identified as Board's Exhibit 2
2. That the temporary exception from the off-street parking re-
quirements shall terminate upon the complet-on of the pro-
posed addition.
SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby
directed to issue such permit and temporary ex-
ception pursuant to the terms of this ordinance.
