Authorizing the Lease of Certain Room Space on the Second Floor of the Civic Center WHEREAS, the City of Evanston owns certain real property legally described as follows: See attached a commonly known as 2100 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois; and WHEREAS, said real estate is improved with a five -story building i known as the Evanston Civic Center; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary or appropriate or in the best interest of the City that it retain the use of certain second floor room space within • ! incorporated said improved real estate as set forth in Exhibit A hereto and � herein by reference, and that said second floor room space is not required for the use of or profitable to the City of Evanston; and WHEREAS, the Visiting Nurse Association of Evanston, a. not -for - profit corporation, has proposed to lease said second floor room space at 2100.Rid.ge Avenue; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined ! I that the best interest of the City of Evanston would be served by the leasing of said property to the Visiting Nurse Association of Evanston; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the best i interest of the City of Evanston.and its residents will be served by the i i execution of the lease. • i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE, CITY � OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:' j' i i 86--0-82 SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and ' directed to sign and the City Clerk hereby authorized and directed to attest on behalf of the City of Evanston a lease by and between the City of Evanston as Lessor and the Visiting Nurse Association j of Evanston as Lessee for the floor space described in Exhibit "A" herein 1 for a term of 5 years, at a yearly rental of as follows: September 1, 1982 - f August 31, 1985. SECTION 2: The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed i to negotiate any additional conditions on the lease of aforesaid room space as may be determined to be in the best interests of I� the City. C SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
