HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1982-069-O-82i i it 6/10/82._ f' l 69-0-82 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of Surplus Light Fixtures WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical, economical or in the best interest of the , ;City to retain certain old Tallmadge street lighting fixtures and I ..components removed from Contract Area #1 as part of a Street Lighting l Improvement Project; and WHEREAS the City is unable to utilize the bulk of these fixtures or components in any other area or in any other manner; and WHEREAS, said personalty consists of approximately 902 separate lighting units valued collectively at more than One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500); and j WHEREAS, It has been determined in the best interest of the I • City of Evanston to sell said individual units or components of units on a first come basis at fixed prices recommended by the Capital Improvements Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY .COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Plamager hereby declares the 902 old Tallmadge light fixtures and component parts as surplus City property. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 1-17-2 of the City of Evanston Municipal Code, the City Manager of the City of Evanston is hereby authorized and directed to offer the ,following surplus property for sale: (a) approximately 900 old ,Tallmadge light fixtures at $90.00 per unit; and (b) any remaining individual cast iron components for $20.00 per item. SECTION 3: That the method of sale of the aforementioned personalty shall be on a first come basis. i 69-0-82 6/10/82 ,I i • i SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict � 4 herewith are hereby repealed. i SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and i publication in the manner provided by law.
