AN ORDINANCE
Amending Title 1, Chapter 13, "Wards
and Precincts" of the Code of the City
�J of Evanston, 1979, as amended
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON,
COOK COUNTY,, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Title 1, Section 1-13-5 of the Code of the City
i
of Evanston, 1979, as amended, be and the same is
;hereby amended so that the sections enumerated shall hereafter read as
follows:
1-13-5: WARDS AND PRECINCTS: The City is hereby divided
into nine (9) wards, all in Evanston Township.
Precinct boundaries shall be those as established and revised by the
1 Cook County Board of Commissioners.
1-13-5-1: FIRST WARD: All that part of the City bounded
and described as follows: Commencing at a point
�i being the center line of the right-of-way of the Chicago Transit
Authority and the center line of Noyes Street; thence north
j along the center line of said right-of-way to the center line
i' of Colfax Street; thence east along said center line and the
same produced of Colfax Street to the shore of Lake Michigan;
thence south along said shoreline to the center line produced

at Maple Avenue to the center line of Emerson Street, thence east

the right-of-way of the Chicago Transit Autliori,ty Railway; thence
north along said right-of-way of the Chicago Transit Authority

Foster Street to the center line of Sherman Avenue; thence north
along the center line of Sherman Avenue to the center line of
Noyes Street, thence west along the center line of Noyes Street

1-13-5-2: SECOND WARD: All that part of the city bounded
• and described as follows: Commencing at a point
being the west city limits and the center line of Crain Street;
thence north along the west city limits to the center line of

to the center line of the right-of-way of the Mayfair Division
of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company; thence north-
east along the center line of said right-of-way to the center
line of Emerson Street; thence east along the center line of
Emerson Street to the center line of Maple Avenue; thence south

line of Judson Avenue to the center line of Dempster Street;

of Forest Avenue to the center line of Burnham Place; thence
east along said center line of Burnham Place to the center line
of Sheridan Road; thence south along said center .line of Sheridan
Road to the center line of Hamilton Street, thence east along said

along the center line of Crain Street to the center line of Ashland
Avenue; thence north along said center line and the same produced
north of Ashland Avenue as opened south of Wilder Street to the
center line of Dempster Street; thence east along the center line
of Dempster Street to the center line of the Milwaukee Division of
the Chicago and North Western Railway Company; thence south along
said center line of said right-of-way to the center line of
.Washington Street to the center line of Custer Avenue; thence
south along said center line of. Custer Avenue to the center line of
Madison Street; thence west along said center line of Madison Street
to the.center line of Elmwood Avenue; thence north along said center
line of Elmwood Avenue to the center line of Main Street; thence

Grant Street, thence east along the center line of Grant Street
to the center line of Pioneer Road; thence south along the center

SECTION 2: Ordinance 94=0-72 is repealed in its entirety.

SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect

from and after its passage and approval in the

manner provided by law.
