AN ORDINANCE
Granting a Variation and Special
Use at 2208 Maple Avenue
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public
hearing on July 20, 1982, August 17, 1982 and again on September 21, 1982
upon the application of Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary for variations
from the yard obstruction and off-street parking regulations of the Zoning
Ordinance to permit ten off-street parking spaces to be located in the re-
quired front yard, a prohibited location; and for special uses to permit (a)
relocation of the parking lot entrances and exits to a single exit on Maple
Avenue, (b) installation of an access control gate and 4-foot high solid
fence in the required front yard, and (c) redesign of the parking lot layout
at 2208 Maple Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, property•located in an R6 General
Residence District; said hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice
and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the appli-
!j cation for said variations and special uses be granted,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of Garrett Evangelical Theological
Seminary for a variation from the yard obstruction and
off-street parking regulations of the Zoning Ordinance to permit ten off-
street parking spaces to be located in the required front yard, a prohibited
location; and a special use to permit redesign of the parking lot layout in
accordance .W th the plans submitted and identified as Board's Exhibit 2, on
the property located at 2208 Maple Avenue and legally described as follows:
That part of Lots 9 and 18 in Assessor's Division in frac'l
Section 7, T 41 N, R 14 East of the 3rd P.M., lying West
of Maple Avenue and East of the East line of Alley as
dedicated and occupied, except that part thereof lying North
of the lines parallel with the South line of Noyes Street and
located 170.17 feet South therefrom, in the City of Evanston,
Cook Co., Illinois
is granted subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance, other applicable laws and the condition that the property owner

;shall insure that direct rays of light from artificial illumination on
litheproperty do not beam into adjoining property or into a street.
j SECTION 2: The Director of Building and Zoning is hereby

directed to issue such permit pursuant to the terms

;of this ordinance.

from and after its passage and approval in the manner
