SECTION 3: That Section 6-9-2-2(A)1- of the Evanston Zoning I Ordinance be amended to read as follows: 6-9-2-2: LOCATION: Parking spaces required for single-family dwellings and two-family dwellings shall be located on j the same lot as the dwelling served.or.on an adjoining lot. ! (A) Parking spaces required for all other buildings shall be located on the same lot; provided, however, that when ten (10) or more parking spaces are required: 1. Said parking spaces, if required for the parking of patrons or occupants of a building, may be provided on a lot located not more than five hundred feet_(500') from the lot requiring said parking. However, in the B4 and B5 Business Districts and the contiguous B2 and B3 Business Districts, required parking for buildings and uses other than dwelling units may be provided on a lot located I not more than one thousand feet (1,000') from the lot requiring said parking. Said lot shall be owned by the owner of the building requiring the parking, except where otherwise provided in this ordinance. SECTION 4: That Section 6-9-2-10 (introductory paragraph) of the Evanston City Code be amended to read as follows: 6-9-2-10: REQUIRED NUMBER OF OFF-STREET PARKING SPACES: Each principal building or use shall have the following mini- mum number of parking spaces (except ds exempt in Sections 6-9-2-11 or as provided in 6-7-278) ). SECTION 5: Unless the City Council shall have voted affirmatively to continue in full force and effect the provisions of the Evanston City Code Sections 6-7-2-8(B) and 6-9-2 as amended by this ordinance, said sections shall, three year's - subsequent to the date of adoption of this ordinance be amended to revert to language in effect January I i 23, 1983, which did and shall again read.as follows: 6-7-2-8: OFF-STREET LOADING AND TARKING: I j (A). 'Off -Street Loading: Loading berths in accordance with the pro- visions set forth in Section 6-9-1. (B) Off -Street Parking: 1. In Bl and B2 Districts, parking shall be provided in accordance with the provisions set forth in Section 6-9-2. 2. In B3, B4 and B5 Districts, parking spaces for residential j and hotel uses shall be provided in accordance with the provisions set forth in. Section 6-9-2. 3. In B3, B4 and B5 Districts, parking spaces for uses other than i residential and hotel uses shall be provided in accordance with j the.following specified percentages of the requirements set forth in Section 6-9-2. I -3- • • E 4/19/83 5/3/83 5/17/83 50-0-83 a. In a B3 District, sixty percent (60%); b. In a B4 District, fifty percent (50%); c. In a B5 District, forty percent C40%). In addition, where not less than eighty percent (80%) of the re- quired parking is located below grade, the -number of required parking spaces may be further reduced by ten percent (10%) of the requirements specified in Section 6-9-2. 6-9-2: OFF-STREET PARKING.: In Connection with any structure here- after erected, or in which•additional .dwelling units are created, off-street parking spaces shall be provided meeting all the minimum requirements of this section. Any parking space hereafter in- stalled shall be improved so as to meet all the minimum requirements hereof. Whenever any structure is either altered so as to increase the "Floor Area --for determining off-street parking and loading requirements" as defined herein, or a use or uses (as set forth in Section 6-9-2-10) are changed or both, so as to increase the minimum parking requirements as calculated by application of the formulae in said Section 6-9-2-10, parking spaces shall be provided equal to the amount of the resulting increase; provided, that in no case shall more spaces be required than necessary to meet the minimum requirements as set forth in Section .6-9-2-10. Parking spaces accessory to buildings and uses which exist on December 2, 1960, shall not be reduced to or less than the number required under this section for buildings hereafter erected. SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby 'repealed. SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in.full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. Introduced: �2 1983.
