AN ORDINANCE
Granting Relief from a Condition of I
�! Ordinance 31-0-65 and Variations from the
Use Regulations of the Zoning Ordinance
j' at 1416-20 Central Street
i WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public I
�i
j hearing on June*21, 1983 upon the application by Morris L. Kolodny as sole
beneficiary under the LaSalle, National Bank of Chicago Trust 52450 for
relief from a condition of Ordinance 31-0-65 and variations from .the use
regulations of the Zoning Ordinance to permit (1) continued nonconforming use j
of the ground floor as business offices beyond the elimination date of
i
December 1, 1980, established in Ordinance 31-0-65; and (2) use of the four
ground floor stores for all uses permitted in Section 6-7-2-1(A) of the Zoning
Ordinance, except those determined by the Zoning Board of Appeals not to be
acceptable, said application concerning 1416-20 Central Street, Evanston, j
Illinois, property located in an R6 General Residence District; said public
11! hearing*having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in I

the manner prescribed by law; and

WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the appli-
cation for said relief and said variations be granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: i
SECTION 1: That the application of Morris L. Kolodny for relief
il from'a condition of Ordinance 31-0-65 and variations from use regulations to
allow al'l.business uses permitted in Section 6-7-2-1(A) of the Zoning
Ordinance in the four ground floor stores at 1416-20 Central Street,
j! Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as follows:
Lots 12 and 1.3 (except the south 14 feet for alley) in Block 4 in
�! Evanston Park Addition, being a subdivision of Blocks 1, 2, 3 and
4 in the Resubdivision of Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 in North
Evanston, being in the Northeast fractional quarter and the
North half of the Southeast quarter of Section 12, Township 41
North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook

County, Illinois
!j is granted subject to compliance with all other applicable provisions of the

!i Zoning Ordinance of the City Code of the City of Evanston,'as amended,
�i and all other applicable laws and to the condition that the uses be limited
to Permitted Uses delineated in Section 6-7-2-1(A) of the said Zoning Or-

i dinance except the following as defined therein: Bakeries, Banks and other
financial institutions; Bicycle stores; Candy, confectionary and ice cream
�I stores; Carpet and rug stores; Child care services; child day care homes
it and night time homes; Christmas tree sales lots; Currency exchanges; Drug
jstores and pharmacies; Dry cleaning and laundry collection stations and dry
cleaning and laundry establishments; Dwelling units; Food.store.s,'grocery

stores and meat markets; Garden supply and seed stores; Hotels; Loan Offices;

Medical and dental clinics; Newsstands and agencies; Paint and wallpaper
.i
stores; Pet shops; Publishing establishments; Sound recording studios; and
Temporary buildings for construction purposes, all in accordance with the
,I
recommendations of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

SECTION 2: The Director of Building and Zoning is ordered and
directed to grant such permits or certificates of
occupancy as shall be required to effectuate the recommendations of the
i Zoning Board of Appeals, and the variations granted thereunder.

i' SECTION 3: Ordinance 31-0-65 is specifically repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force -and effect
i
from and after its passage and approval in the
manner'pirovided by law.
