HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1983-049-O-834/27/83 4/28/83 49-0-83 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use at 614-16"Dempster WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing on April 19, 1983 upon the application of Elvera Carlson (owner) and the Prairie Organ Co., Inc. (prospective lessee) for a special use to permit approximately 1,140 square feet on the ground floor of the existing building to be used for construction, repair and restoration of pipe organs on property with 4,314 square feet of lot area at 614-16 Dempster Street, property lo- cated in a C3 Commercial District; said hearing having been conducted pur- suant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the appli- cation for said special use be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the application, of Elvera Carlson (owner) and the Prairie Organ Co., Inc. (prospective lessee) for a special use to permit approximately 1,140 square feet on the ground floor of the existing building to be used for construction, repair and restoration of pipe organs on property with 4,314 square feet of lot area at 614-16 Dempster Street, and legally described as: I That portion of Lots 4 and 5 in the resubdivision of north 175 ft. of ---.....Block 1 in Snyder's addition to Evanston, bounded and described as j follows: Commencing'on the north line of said Lot 5 at a point 50 ft. east of the right of way of Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, measured at right angles to the east line of said right ! of way; running thence south on a line parallel to said 50 ft. east- j wardly of said right of way to the south line of said Lot 4, thence ! east on the south line of Lot 4 to the east line of said Lot 4, thence north on the east line thereof, a distance of 128 ft. to the north line thereof, thence west on the north line of said lots 4 and 5 to the point of beginning in Cook County, Illinois • ! is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and.other applicable laws. • • 49-0-83 SECTION 2: The Director of Building and Zoning is hereby directed to issue such permit pursuant to the terms of this ordinance.
