I ij i 2-0-84 AN ORDINANCE it • ii Authorizing "Catering Establishments" as Permitted or Special Uses in Business.,Commercial and Manufacturing Districts WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee conducted public r� �i hearings on November 17, 1983, December 1, 1983, and December. 15, 1983, to consider amending tile -Zoning Ordinance to authorize "catering establishments" ji as permitted or special uses in business, commercial and manufacturing i districts and to designate the appropriate off-street.loading and parking i� requirements and any other related regulations, said public hearings having j� been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law, and j WHEREAS, :basea.upon the testimony presented, findings of fact, ii Ij consideration of existing conditions, conservation of property values, and the i; direction of building development to the best advantage of the entire City, !I the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee found that the proposed amendment was reasonable and req,ufred for the public good, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I! EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: ' SECTION •1::'That Section 6-2-4 of the Evanston City Code, 1979, as �I amended, be further amended by adding the following definition: CATERING A business whose primary function is the preparation, ii ESTABLISHMENT".. --.'.delivery and serving of food for consumption off the i premises. SECTION 2: That Section 6-7-2-1(A) of the Evanston City Code, 1979, to subsection "C": 6-7-2-1(A) I, CI as amended, be further amended by adding the following Catering establishments, notwithstanding the require- ments of Section 6-7-1(D) and (E), and provided the gross floor -area does not exceed 2,000 square feet. In B4 and B5 Districts catering establishments shall not be located below the second floor. 12/22/83 j 2-0-84 • SECTION 3:• That Section 6-7-3-1(A) of the Evanston City Code, 1979, as amended, be further amended to read as follows: 6-7-3-1: PERMITTED USES: (A) C1, C2 apd`C3 Districts: 1. Uses'permitted in the B Districts, without restrictions as to the ground.floor location or floor area of such uses, except as stipulated hereafter; provided, however, that dwelling units, other than those in a hotel or janitor's quarters, are permitted only in the principal building and only in the C1 District. Where there are --two (2) or more principal buildings on a lot other than a corner lot; dwellings are permitted only in the one which is closer to the street. (Ords. 7-0-62, 88-0-66) -2. Automobile accessory stores. 3. Automobile service stations, but not including automobile laundries. 4. Boat -and other marine sales, but not including open sales lots. 5. Catering establishments, provided the gross floor area does not exceed 2,000.square feet. 6. Exterm,inating shops. 7. Job and offset printing. 8. Laundries --employing not more than .'six (6) persons in addition to one owner or manager. j 9. Moto.r"vehicle sales and rentals, but not including open sales lots. (Ord. 7-0-62) 10. Office equipment sales and repair establishments. •i 11. Parking.lots and storage garages. ' 12. Plumbing and heating showrooms excluding workshops and open storage•of`materials and equipment. (Ord. 36-0-76) 13. Public utility uses. 14. Radio.and television Service and repair shops. 15. Signs.as regulated in Section 6-7-3-7. 16. Secondhand stores and rummage shops. 17. Taxidermists. 18. Vending machines, not located within an enclosed building. (Ord. 1070-69) 19. Accessory uses to the above permitted uses including assembly, repair and storage clearly incidental to the conduct of a permitted service or retail sales on the premises. 20. Child day care homes and night time homes, as defined herein. (Ord. 23-0-74) -2- 3 12/22/83 I 2-0-84 SECTION 4: That Section 6-8-4(B)1 of the Evanston City Code, 1979, as amended, be further amended by adding the following: I . j!
